I placed an order with Uber eats. It was taking a long time for the order to be prepared, over an hour. I called Uber eats support and after speaking to a woman at Uber eats and her briefly placing me on hold she assured me that my order was about to be picked up as we spoke and on my way for delivery. I waited with no change in update on the app. Another half hour passed and then suddenly my order was cancelled. I was confused because the Uber eats associate I spoke with was assured me my order was ready and being picked up as we spoke the first time. So I called again to inquire as to what happened and the new representative told me that my order had been cancelled and that’s all he could tell me in regards to my order. When I inquired as to why the first representative told me my food was ready and being picked up he had no answer other then my Oder had been cancelled. Then he said they only go off what the system tells them. So I further inquired why the first representatives system showed my food was ready and being picked up and his wasn’t. At that point I felt as if the first representative had lied to me especially when the second representative said they would have had to call for her to know that information. But when I was put on hold,during my first call to complain, it was not enough time for the Uber eats representative to have called and inquired with the restaurant or delivery driver because it was less then ** seconds. Also if she did actually call then my food must have been ready and being picked up from what she told me. So with both scenarios I feel I was lied too by the first representive to get me off the phone and stop my complaint. I had just got home from work and use Uber eats as a convenient option but not only did I wait for over a hour and a half but I was also lied to by the first Uber eats representative. I could have cancelled my order the first time I called but she assured me my food was coming only for me to wait another half hour and have my order cancelled. This is unsatisfactory to have your customers lied to about their orders so your representative can rush us off the phone. It is ridiculous and I use your app on a more than frequent basis. This needs to be fixed or I will be deleting this app and recommending everyone I know to do the same because your representives are using deception to appease people who call to complain or inquiries.
