Help with my Uber issue

Resolve a charge ... I stayed at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. On the back of the hotel key was a code for Uber. I used it and got a ride on ******* for $**.**. I tipped the driver $*.** which went through my paypal. As I walked in the hotel, uber sent a statement that the payment didn't go through. I did it again. I used Uber again the next day and flew home. When I reviewed my bank statement, the coupon code wasn't used and the **.** was taken out of my account? So the special to sign up for Uber didn't work for me. *How do I get that credited back to my paypal? My second trip was $**.** the following day, I could have sent a Lyft but I didn't. Both of my drivers were kind and I had no issues with them. It is just my charges. Thank you.
