Customer Service:* I need to submit three complaints against the employees of the Reading, MA Stop and Shop for three incidents, the first occurring on Sunday, March *th, and the second and third occurring on Wednesday, March **th, all at the Reading, MA Stop and Shop. This now makes SEVEN complaints that I have submitted over the last three years against employees of the Reading, MA Stop and Shop. Please bear in mind that I have a high school diploma and a degree in Business Administration from Bentley University, so while I am not a genius I have a reasonable degree of intelligence.* The first incident occurred at the Reading, MA Stop and Shop around *:** a.m. on Sunday, March *th. I purchased just two items and intended to check them out at the Self-Serve Check Out with no problem. Instead I discovered when I arrived at the Self-Serve Check Outs, three of the six check out machines were closed, and the other three machines were all occupied by customers that were all checking out a very large number of items and taking a great deal of time. I immediately told the employee there that this was ridiculous to close as many as three of the six self serve check outs, since this forces me to wait several minutes for at least one of the other three customers to finish checking out when I only had two items to check out. While she agreed to check out my two items at her register, another female employee told me that "we are doing the best that we can." Then a male manager came to where I was, and I told him that it was ridiculous to have as many as three of the six Self-Serve Check Outs closed at one time. He told me that the store was doing this "so that we can perform maintenance on them at the same time." I strongly disagreed with the necessity of doing this. In my opinion, it is only necessary to have one Self-Serve Check Out closed at one time for maintenance work, and to close each of the three machines that need such work done at separate times. To shut down three of six Self Serve Check Outs at one time is putting the store's best interests ahead of the customer's best interests, and is NOT "doing the best we can," as the female employee told me. In my opinion, this manager was inconsiderate, disrespectful, and acted totally unprofessional towards me, blaming me for what the store was doing, and also lacking class, conscience, responsibility, sympathy, integrity, and character to me, and thus should be held accountable for the extremely poor way he was treating me as a customer of the store he works in. Had only one Self Serve Check Out been closed instead of three, I could have checked out my two items quickly with no problem at all.* The second incident occurred at the Reading, MA Stop and Shop around *:** p.m. on Wednesday, March **th. After I purchased three items, I intended to check them out at the Self-Serve Check Out. Fortunately there was a Self-Serve Check Out available to use when I arrived there. My three items were a total cost of $*.**. Since I wanted three dollars back and not a lot of coins, I first deposited ** cents into the Self-Serve Check Out, then inserted a $** bill for $**.** overall, so that the change due to me was $*.**. Instead the machine spit back out one of the dimes I had deposited, and then proceeded to give me back $* in bill and ** cents more in coins. I was extremely upset about this, since I had deposited the right amount to get $* back in bills and just two pennies, but instead got back $* in bills and *** cents in coins, thus defeating the purpose of depositing ** cents into the machine before inserting the $** bill. At this time the same manager that I had encountered the previous Sunday came over, and when I told him what happened, he first told me that I had to go to the customer service desk to trade my $* in coins for a $* bill, and then he told me that if I complained about anything again that "he would have a real problem with me." Apparently he forgot that I was a customer of the store he works in. Again, this manager was inconsiderate, disrespectful, and acted totally unprofessional towards me, blaming me for the malfunction of the machine, and also lacking class, conscience, responsibility, sympathy, integrity, and character to me, and thus should be held accountable yet again for the extremely poor way he was treating me as a customer of the store he works in. Had the machine worked properly I could have paid for my groceries and left the store without saying a word to anyone and without incident.* The third incident occurred at the Reading, MA Stop and Shop on the same day and around the same time as the previous incident. I regularly purchased Barbecue Chicken Chunks at the Deli Department of this store every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and usually someone from the Deli gives me this item in the same oblong-shaped container. For some reason when I went to the Deli on Wednesday, March **th to pick up my Barbecue Chicken Chunks, I was given an unusual square-shaped container. Since there were the same Barbecue Chicken Chunks in the container I agreed to still take it. However, after I had checked this item out and brought it home, when I got home I discovered that the cover to this container had come COMPLETELY OFF, and barbecue sauce was all over my other groceries and the inside of the bag I had it in. I was furious that this happened. In my opinion, the employees of the Deli Department should have know beforehand what I discovered at home, that the lid to this type of container doesn't even attach to the base of the container, and that there was no way I should have been given this container to begin with, but I should have been given the same old oblong-shaped container instead. Therefore, I feel the employees of the Deli Department acted totally negligent in giving me my Barbecue Chicken Chunks in a faulty container, and need to be held accountable for doing this to me, and leading to having barbecue sauce all over my groceries and bag. So this complaint I am submitting against the employees of the Deli Department of the Reading, MA Stop and Shop.* The first two of these incidents both resulted from Self Serve Check Out machines that were first being improperly being shut down at the same time, and second allowed to malfunction and dispense over $* in coins to me that I didn't want. Both of these incidents wouldn't have happened if the male manager to treated me so disrespectfully TWICE had made better decisions to only shut down one machine at a time, and also make sure each machine works properly, and thus he needs to be held accountable for this. The third incident resulted from the negligence of the employees in the Deli Department for given me a container for my Barbecue Chicken Chunks that they definitely should have been aware had a lid that didn't even attach to the base of the container, and thus they need to be held accountable for this. All three of these incidents were EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE shown to me by the manager and the Deli Department employees of the Reading, MA Stop and Shop to me, a paying customer of their store, and I am EXTREMELY UPSET THAT ALL THREE OF THESE INCIDENTS HAPPENED TO ME, and that I was treated so poorly by the manager and Deli Department employees of this store. Therefore, I want someone from Stop and Shop to contact me as soon as possible, and explain to me why these incidents took place and what the employees of the Reading, MA Stop and Shop are doing to try and prevent these incidents from happening again. So if you or someone from Stop and Shop could please call me at (***) ***-**** at his or her earliest convenience I would greatly appreciate it. My e-mail address is *****@***.com. Thank you, and I look forward to your response.**Ken Kotelly
