I am a customer at Stop and Shop in Bellingham, MA. I have observed some cashiers handling groceries roughly by tossing items into the bags, which can lead to damage. For instance, when my avocados are tossed, they end up bruised and black inside, affecting their quality. Similarly, when restocking shelves, I have seen the employees forcefully pushing bags of chips back onto the shelf, causing them to break into pieces and making them unusable for dipping or eating without making a mess. It seems like there might be a need for some retraining for the staff, as they might be unaware or not paying attention to how they handle the items. I used to work in a grocery store and know the importance of proper handling. Thank you for addressing this issue. - Ron

Hello, I am reaching out to request a retraining of both the baggers and staff operating the registers in properly packaging groceries. The bags are frequently packed haphazardly, with items jumbled together and sometimes even thrown into the bags. This method of bagging is not suitable for delicate foods like avocados and tomatoes. Additionally, during restocking, particularly of chips like corn chips, I've observed bags being pushed onto shelves, resulting in the chips getting crushed. Many bags end up with crushed chips at the bottom, rendering them unusable for dipping. This ongoing issue at Stop and Shop has led me to shop elsewhere, particularly for higher-quality produce. Despite mentioning this concern previously, the matter remains unresolved. Thank you, Ron.

On Saturday, April 15, [redacted], about 2:25 PM, while shopping at store #[redacted] in Springfield Gardens, NY, I purchased navel pastrami from the deli. After receiving my order, I decided I also wanted honey glazed turkey. The clerk expressed that I should have requested the honey glazed turkey initially and mentioned she wouldn't clean the slicer machine for it. Feeling uncomfortable, I decided to forgo the honey glazed turkey. I did not ask her to clean the slicer. The situation made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. I believe this behavior constitutes poor customer service. I did not get the employee's name as she was not wearing a name tag. She was a fair-skinned African American with a chipped or missing front tooth. It would be beneficial for this employee to receive additional training or feedback to better appreciate her role in providing good customer service at the deli.

I've been a loyal customer of Stop & Shop for 60 years. Recently, I was charged $0.20 for two bags at the self-service checkout, which upset me. However, what made me incredibly frustrated was the poor quality of the bags. One bag ripped in the store parking lot with just 5 TV dinners, and the other one tore open in my apartment parking lot while carrying only a 32 oz soda and a chocolate chip cookie container. This experience has led me to decide to stop shopping at Stop & Shop altogether. It would be wise for the store to consider a slight increase in prices per item rather than charging for bags, as it left me feeling disrespected as a customer.

While working for Stop and Shop, I experienced several concerning incidents that have left me feeling deceived regarding my employment. There have been safety issues, including being hit on my way to work, and I believe the store needs to address employees using harmful substances and cease harassing their coworkers. It is unacceptable for employees to engage in gossip, use vulgar language, and behave unprofessionally. The managers should strive to build better relationships with their staff rather than turning a blind eye to misconduct. I personally experienced harassment and inappropriate behavior, which led to me feeling pushed out of my job. The lack of professionalism, financial requests, and verbal altercations have created a toxic work environment. It is concerning that employees were allowed to work under the influence, smoke in the store, and engage in deceitful actions. The overall culture at the store appeared to be chaotic and I was given mixed messages about returning to work, which further added to my distress.

Some individuals feel that if these products are heavily advertised, then perhaps religious products such as "God water" and "God ice cream" should receive similar promotion. The sentiment suggests that society is currently facing challenges, and it is important to voice opinions in the face of overwhelming marketing. The individual expresses a reluctance to purchase the advertised water, preferring it to be presented simply as "still water" without additional branding. This view is believed to resonate with many Americans, reflecting a desire for less conspicuous marketing tactics.

I am a customer at the Groton, CT store and I want to express my support for Dan Troy, a dedicated employee at Stop and Shop for 42 years. I recently learned that he is being required to move from the Groton store to the Old Saybrook store, which concerns me deeply. Since [redacted], I have chosen to shop at this Stop and Shop mainly because of Dan, whom I fondly refer to as "My produce guy." His exceptional customer service, professionalism, and knowledge have consistently enhanced my shopping experience. I have developed trust in him over the years and greatly value his presence at the Groton store. I urge the corporate office to listen to the feedback and preferences of loyal customers like myself and reconsider the decision to relocate Dan. If Dan is no longer at the Groton store, I am prepared to take my business elsewhere, such as McQuades, Big Y, Shop Rite, or any other store. Please retain Dan in Groton where he is cherished by customers like me.

During my recent visit to the Stop & Shop in Berlin, Connecticut, I encountered a very unpleasant situation. The cashier, Wendy, displayed incredibly rude and disrespectful behavior while assisting an older gentleman in front of me. She showed no patience when he needed help with tasks such as inputting his phone number or bagging groceries. Wendy's attitude was so off-putting that she even made a snide remark about the gentleman to me after checking him out. When I politely requested to speak with a manager about her conduct, she dismissively refused. I felt compelled to share this feedback as Wendy's demeanor was truly appalling and unacceptable for anyone in a customer service role. Her treatment of the older man was particularly egregious, and I left the store feeling disheartened by the entire experience. This encounter has left such a negative impression that I will not be returning to Stop & Shop in the future.

While shopping at Stop and Shop in Monroe, CT yesterday, I experienced a situation with a customer service employee that left me feeling quite upset. The cashier was helpful but needed assistance with my rain check, so a representative from customer services intervened. Despite my confusion, the representative insisted she had explained and issued the rain check, making me feel uncomfortable. After expressing my ongoing confusion, the representative abruptly left. The cashier and another customer witnessed the exchange and agreed that the behavior was unwarranted for someone in customer service. With the new Aldy's and Big Y nearby, I expected more courteous and helpful staff to be a priority in such a competitive market.

Dear Customer Service, I am writing to express my frustration with my recent experiences at the Barclays Center Stop & Shop in Brooklyn. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years in New Jersey stores, but the service at this location has been disappointing. I have noticed several issues, including a lack of shopping carts near the main entrance, a shortage of open checkouts, a lack of managerial presence at the checkouts, cashier training issues with OTC cards, and an overall lack of enthusiasm from the staff. While my past experiences at other Stop & Shop locations have been positive, this specific store has left me extremely unsatisfied with the level of customer service provided.

I visited your Newington Rd. West Hartford, Ct store at 7 am today to quickly grab some deli meat. Unfortunately, there was no one in the deli area despite the store being open. I asked three employees at the service desk for help. After some back and forth, a young girl mentioned she was in the bathroom until 7:15, to which I expressed my frustration. Another woman then made a rude remark, and I decided to leave as they continued to speak disrespectfully. The lack of professionalism was disappointing.

Every visit, I find the designated peapod pickup spots occupied by shoppers, causing me to wait for a spot to open up. I have reached out to the store and customer service, but the issue remains unresolved. It is essential to have someone monitor the parking spots to ensure they are used correctly. Additionally, the bags for my pickup orders are consistently packed with items that are too heavy, leading to breakages. I received bags today that were overloaded with heavy items like 3-liter cartons of cream and glass jars, causing them to tear. One bag even contained multiple liters of soda and other beverages in one bag. This situation needs to be addressed to prevent items from being damaged during pickup.

I had a disappointing experience at Stop & Shop on Temple St in Framingham. I purchased various hot cooked chicken items yesterday around 4 pm, including drumsticks, wings, legs, and nuggets. Unfortunately, every piece was overcooked, resulting in meat that was as crunchy as the outer coating, lacking any flavor. As a result, I fell ill this morning and had to cancel my plans for the day due to stomach issues. I will not be returning to this location as I believe Stop & Shop is declining in quality.
