I was trying to install Saints Row IV so that I could play online with my friend, but the install of the game was successful. What I can't understand is why my chat display for me going online, away, or on invisible is now corrupted and won't fully display like how it's supposed to, and it only displays by * letter. ... My issue occurred late last night after I had purchased Saints Row IV. I had bought the game and installed it just fine, but just as I restarted steam my online, away, and invisible statuses are no longer fully displaying. It just shows O, A, and Inv, while the rest of the letters are completely cut off. Sometimes even trying to show that I'm online it shows that I'm not. Everything was working fine all day yesterday until that very point. I've already cleared the download cache, I've completely uninstalled steam, lost my files, and reinstalled a fresh copy and yet the issue still persist. I already submitted a support ticket before I went to bed, but have still not received a response. I have two emails to send info. to, I'll leave my secondary here, and my email that's associated with my account in the box below. My secondary email is *****@***.com Any help to resolve the issue is greatly appreciated.*Thank you in advance ***-Andrea
It's frustrating because no matter what I've done to try and resolve the issue nothing has worked. I cleared the download cache, I fully uninstalled steam and it removed all of my folders and files before I reinstalled a fresh copy of steam on my computer. Now all of my games are uninstalled, and the issue still persist.
I just want my steam account to start working properly again. Right now I'm sitting on a blank slate with no games downloaded, and my friend chat box is broken because it's not functioning correctly and not displaying my statuses whenever I try to go online etc. I would like for this to be resolved in any manner possible so that I can start re downloading my games and get back to playing with my friends. Not being able to fully display myself as being online is quite aggravating. Any tips or tricks that can help resolve the issue is greatly appreciated.
I've been a member for over * years, and typically I don't have a ton of errors on here, I've only experienced a few flaws now and then. I will say that this one has got to be one of the worst. What I expected, was for Steam to be a bit more polished, and by that I mean more focus towards fixing the errors that continue to keep reoccurring, rather than adding all of these brand new shiny updates that really don't offer much. I appreciate the time and the updates given yes, but at the same time it would be much more appreciated to not have to keep running into the same errors over and over again.
The only things I've tried as already stated above is clearing the download cache, and completely uninstalling steam and reinstalling it back on my computer with no games downloaded.
