Double-check your inventory to make sure you're really missing the items or gifts. You can do this by signing in to your account. Enter your login credentials to log in successfully.
Navigate to your account, click your profile name, and select Inventory from the drop-down menu.
Are the items really missing? Recheck your inventories to confirm that the items are no longer there. You may be able to recover them, depending on the game and how you lost them. The provided screenshot shows an active Counter-Strike 2 inventory, which supports Trade Protection. This means you can reverse an eligible trade within seven days to recover your items. This can be particularly helpful if you lost control of your Steam account due to phishing or malware. If your item is indeed lost and is Trade Protected, proceed to the next step.
You'll know an item has protection because it will be clearly marked as Trade Protected. Currently, Counter-Strike 2 is the only game on Steam that supports Trade Protection. If you need to reverse an eligible trade, there's no need to contact Steam Support, as you can do this through your Trade History page. Simply click Reverse Eligible Trades and follow the instructions. Please keep in mind that reversing eligible trades means all trades from the previous seven days will be returned to their previous owners. Also, you will be banned from trading in the Market for 30 days. Note that only the account that initiated the trade will receive the 30-day Market cooldown.
Did you accidentally delete your items? Steam has a feature that lets you confirm the deletion of an item, which means it can no longer be restored once deleted, even accidentally. Bans can also affect your inventory. For example, if you receive a Team Fortress 2 ban, all of your items may be removed, and you may no longer be able to recover them. For promotional items, you may need to relaunch the Steam client to ensure you receive all of your items.
Were you able to restore missing items from your Steam account? You may be able to recover Counter-Strike 2 items, as Trade Protection lets you reverse eligible trades within seven days. For other items, please note that Steam generally doesn't restore them. Users are instead advised to secure their accounts to protect their items. Also, never make trades involving CD keys or money, because they aren't supported. It's also best not to lend your items to other users, as you may never get them back.
