Try on clothing in order to purchase but fitting rooms were closed* however sometimes they are open. ... At Pacsun Strongsville on ********* the fitting rooms were AGAIN closed, as on a few weeks previous. But at Summit Mall in between weekends the fitting rooms were open. It seems to be logical that if they can be open sometimes they can be open always. Not sure how Covid is relevant sometimes but not other times. And if it is a matter of having time for a quick cleaning, the amount of time that takes is worth the hundreds of dollars otherwise lost because people cannot try on items. I personally will not purchase anywhere clothing I cannot try on because it is too inconvenient to have to return. There are quite a few high-end stores that do have fitting rooms open, therefore it seems like it should be "safe" enough for every store that sells clothing to have them open. It also is frustrating to speak to clerks at the store who don't seem to know why they are doing something or cannot make a reasonable connection to doing something and why. "Because of the covid" is not a reason without being specific as to why or how this action is impacted by covid. If some stores can because it is ok to do so it should be ok to do so in any store and to do so EVERY time the store is open. I realize most of the shoppers are young girls who don't care about reasons and who are spending their parents money and it may not matter to them if something does not fit once they get home. If they are like my granddaughter, they may not like a rule but would NEVER question it. Since I am the one buying her things and sometimes for myself I want to be able to try them on, and if that is not possible I want a $***.** reason why.
They do not realize that they are losing business when they have the fitting rooms closed* and that they should have a logical intelligent caring attitude when they are giving a reason, a specific reason why they are closed and that simply saying "because of the covid" is not good enough or specific enough. Covid isn't more important one day and less so the next.
I want a reasonable approach to fitting room use and for the staff to be able to communicate in a way that an adult, who most likely knows more than they do, can understand and accept as logical the reason for doing something, outside of the norm. In the meantime I believe that there should be something like a **% off extra when fitting rooms are closed and no final sales or time limit on returns. Better yet to always have the fitting rooms open and for busy times have an extra staff member in the store to clean the fitting rooms if that is the policy the company is following.
Because we shop at Pacsun frequently and purchase close to $***.** each visit - but only when we can try things on. We make it a top priority to visit the Pacsun store whenever we are at a facility that the store is part of.
This is not a situation where anything else would work, the fitting rooms are either open or closed and if they are closed there is no other option for trying on before buying.
