A mega bus ticket was purchased for dec ** at *:** AM from Buffalo, NY to New York City, NY. The bus was delayed due to Canadian border issues (I received a text message notifying me of this). The ticket was for my boyfriend. He got to the downtown terminal in buffalo around * AM via uber. I have receipts and proof of this. He was there waiting the entire time. He then decided to go use the bathroom. In the * minutes that he was using the bathroom, the bus had arrived and by the time he was getting out of the bathroom, the bus began to take off and he even ran outside and started chasing the bus, managed to catch up, but the bus still left without him. I know all of this because I was on the phone with him this entire time and also have proof of these phone calls which you can then cross reference with your records as to when the bus arrived and took off. My bf was basically left stranded because of this. He called megabus to get a refund because of this issue and he was rudely told no, that they could not refund him or issue him another ticket for free and that he had to purchase another ticket. This is highly unacceptable. He clearly followed the instructions and arrived more than ** minutes ahead of the original departure time (as instructed to do so) and literally in the * minutes he is gone to use the bathroom, the bus leaves him and now he is stuck and stranded with no place to go and cannot purchase another ticket because he spent his last money on this bus ticket so that he could make it home for Christmas to be with his son. I am writing to you instead of him because I was the one who purchased the ticket for him. This is the reservation number **-****-******-M**R-****-BUF-NEW. I’d like a refund so that he can use that money to find another way home, or if no refund is given, then a complimentary ticket issued to replace the original one.
