We had to cancel a trip booked on Lufthansa due to a medical emergency. I was working at bangalore and had originally booked the ticket to usa from blr to attend my son's graduation. Due to medical emergency and being primary caregiver for my husband i cancelled ticket. I was told I cannot get refund but would be able reuse the amount for a future trip. I am back in usa now and trying to book a trip from usa to india. The agent now says I should cancel and lose $*** as the trip cannot originate in usa. I had originally requested cancel and refund and was told I would lose all. I would like to confirm with airline what my options are as the situation is on humanitarian grounds

No help from Gethuman. Called the airlines and they said, we have no choice but to work with travel agent as we have not flown any segments of the trip
