My wife and I had a flight out of Toronto on May **th to Florence Italy, with a layover in Munich Germany. Our flight out of Toronto was delayed and we missed our connecting flight in Munich. We were going to try and get on another flight that day to Florence but all were booked. Another couple (Patty and Gordo Ley) also missed the same flight to Florence and they had the last two tickets on the last flight going to Florence that day. Rather than wait until **pm for the flight they decided to rent a car and drive instead, as it would be a few hours faster. As we would have to spend the night in Munich and miss an excursion we had prepaid in Florence, Patty and Gordo offered to rent a car and car pool with us. My wife and I agreed. We told the Lufthansa help desk we would be joining the other couple, but the Luthansa support clerk wrongly assumed we wanted the two tickets that Patty and Gordo gave up. He booked us that flight which he then had to cancel. When he canceled the flight he inadvertently cancelled our return flight on June *nd. This was a HUGE hassle for us and we had to have our travel agent through AAA sort it out for us with Lufthansa. We are seeking reimbursement for the car rental which we split with Patty and Gordo Ley.
