This is my second almost identical issue with Lowes. Some months ago I went to my local store and requested help in the flooring department. When I finally got it the guy was so slow and did not communicate what he was doing, so I stood there (btw there was no chair for the customer to sit while going through all this) about an hour. I left with the assurance that someone would call me to set up an appt. to come to measure my rooms for the new floor. Over a week later I had heard nothing so I called to enquire and was told that they were having trouble with their installers and they would look into it. Another week before I got a call. After the guy measured I waited to hear the results. A week went by, finally I called the store again and asked what was going on with my quote. To cut this part short there had to be several more emails before I finally got a correct quote. I was pretty unhappy with the poor service and the lack of communication and decided to put the whole project on hold while I looked into other resources. Last week I decided that I could only get the flooring I wanted through Lowes, although I would much rather have dealt with Home Depot where I was treated with courtesy and promptness. So I called them to set up an appointment for a further review. I called directly to the flooring department first, about six times, and let the phone ring and ring and ring. It was never answered. I then called the operator and they didn't answer either. Just ringing phones as if the store was closed, no way to leave a question and a message. In the end I drove the half hour to the store to speak to someone in person. There was nobody in the department, although I could hear voices in the back. I waited a long time and finally went to another dept and had them paged. The same man came out from the back to help me as I had dealt with before. I explained about the previous quote and gave him the paperwork. He sat at the computer tapping on the keys for a long time without talking and after another long standing wait he told me he had to ask somebody else if they could use the previous measurements. So I stood all that time for nothing. I was told he would call me that evening or today and let me know.**So today no return call, the same run around with the phones and no answer. When I finally got to the operator she told me sorry there didn't seem to be anyone in the department. That was it. After awhile I called back and asked to speak to the manager. The call went through to someone who hung up before I even got a word out. I was losing my patience at this point but was determined to clear this up. So I called back and asked again to speak to a manager. The person who answered said he was an assistant manager when I asked, but he seemed to have no knowledge of customer relations and just said he would have someone call me back. I have my doubts he was a manager at all, he didn't even know the last name of the manager of the flooring department. *I have read all these complaints about the customer service at Lowes, what is going on there? Nobody there seems to care about the customer at all. They all seem to just hand the problem or the question over to someone else or just shrug their shoulders. Isn't there any supervisor to make sure these things aren't happening? I wasn't able to contact one, there doesn't seem to be any management or accountability in place, and it is almost impossible to speak to any of the employees in person or on the phone, they just aren't around.*I want a person of some authority to call me or better still speak to me in person and explain this whole situation.
