If you are looking to apply for a payment arrangement be sure to pay attention to the payment extension dates and deadlines. If you are willing to wait on hold then you should call into the IRS and they will work with you one on one to set up a payment arrangement that fits your needs. You can call customer support at the IRS using 800-829-1040. Once you call press 1 for English then wait for the recording to end. Press 2 then 1 then 3 then 2. The recording will then ask for your social security number you can just press 0# it will ask again then press 0# and finally press 2 once it asks you a question. You will be told your wait time and a representative will pick up to help you.

Was told needed to file **** thru **** in order to set up a payment plan and to fax the returns in so that the payment plan could be agreed to as got a notice of intent to offset SS benefits in order to pay a **** IRS debt which I just recently found out about. Have been on hold for * hours now as reps keep transferring and can not get a response of where to send the returns and finish a payment plan
