This afternoon I visited my local HD store and was purchasing multiple items. I received in the mail a **% off coupon on my next purchase which I gave the cashier. I also was going to use a $** gift card to apply to my purchases. The cashier told me she couldn't do that since I had to use my HD credit card. I had fully intended to do that. The cashier told me she would need to do two separate transactions and that is what we ended up doing. One with the **% coupon and one with my gift card. Because of this nonsense my purchases were holding up the line of customers behind me. I have never had this experience with any other store, i.e. Bed Bath & Beyond. They use coupons and gift cards in the same transaction all the time. Consequently, the **% did not apply to everything I purchased since I had to go through two separate transactions. This is a ridiculous policy if your cashier was correct.
