GetHuman-mwmacis's customer service issue with Groupon from August 2020

Help with my Groupon issue

The issue in GetHuman-mwmacis's own words
Purchased Groupons for event tickets and the event was cancelled. Groupon Extraordinary Event Policy states "Cancelled Event. If an event is cancelled and not rescheduled, we will automatically refund the amount paid to the purchaser."**Contacted customer service chat and service rep Deepen M. only offered me Groupon Bucks, and said no chance of refund through original form of payment. Customer service rep quickly ended chat without asking if I had further questions or was satisfied with the situation.**I engaged a second chat client with agent Siddbarth "Sid", who was much more courteous - but still only offered the Groupon Bucks. This rep was much more sympathetic, but still only offered Groupon Bucks.**In both chats, I asked for a link to view the terms that stated refunds were only in the form of Groupon Bucks. Neither agent was able to provide. I am in sales and understand fine print, as well as the new-age version of hiding unfavorable client terms by making a customer click through several links, some in small print, in order to really see the terms of the sales. They could not provide me anything that would contradict the "Extraordinary Event Policy" terms, or would specify that a refund was in form of Groupon Bucks.**I am in a role dealing with cruise sales, and - because I deal with this on a daily basis due to COVID-** - I know that a vendor cannot legally only offer me a credit vs. cash refund. Perhaps there are other terms that would say I lose all rights to a cash refund through Groupon, but neither agent supplied that to me. In the cruise industry, many suppliers are offering incentives to take the cruise credit voucher - like increased value of the future cruise credit, vs. a refund, in order to keep cash on the side of the supplier. I would take the Groupon Bucks if they gave me a few months of Groupon Select as incentive. They are telling me that is not an option. The only option is Groupon Bucks. Both agents asked me to "OK" the transaction to be processed. I did not.**I am seeking a cash refund for these deals.
