This is not a login problem, I have all of the details. The computer is simply fully reliant on the existence of google plus. While the "update" that the computer offers when at the login page might say differently, I have no way to check since I own no hard drives big enough to contain the update. I would like either compensation from google (which I doubt they will give) or an alternative solution that lets me use the computer. Even if it is just sending me a big enough hard drive to contain the "update" (the update does NOT mention anything about goggle plus but i'd have to check).

GetHuman3368462's customer service issue with Google from August 2019

Help with my Google issue
The issue in GetHuman3368462's own words
Use the computer ... I have someone in the same room as me who owns a chromebook asus. It is completely dependent on goggle's google plus service so when they stopped supporting it and turned it off the computer stopped working. In other words, it starts just fine but can't get anywhere, not even past the login page that starts running the computer (also dependent on google plus).* So the computer is essentially bricked. We'd like to get our money back for this product. Of course we will return the item to Google if they pay us for it but if they don't...it'll either sit around collecting dust or be sold off in another manner. Google should either contact me or send me an email that'll get me to a reliable customer support line.*There seems to be an update for quite a few megabytes that would require an external hard drive (I haven't tried using the Chromebooks' own internal hard drive yet but I doubt it'll work).* Googles' help center does not work as Google Plus is no longer a service available on that platform.
The computer can't even get past the login screen because of google shutting down google plus.
Either buying the computer from me or offering a solution that lets me use the computer.
I've started up the computer. I haven't tried setting it back to factory settings yet but since it's a Chromebook I'm unsure of the exact steps I need to take.
How GetHuman3368462 fixed the problem
They couldn't fix my issue. I was told that I would have to get the computer sent in for repairs for a $** fee (diagnostic) plus repair costs. However I am no longer with just fixing it. I'll simply get rid of it another way. Customer support was no help and the "phantom" drive problem I encountered while trying to download the recovery image from Chromeos Recovery Utility has me worried for my * gb hard drive. Fortunately I had already erased all info on it before I used it. I also tried deleting the drive then formatting it then downloading the recovery image to no avail here is a script of what happened if you wish to know more:* I have a Chromebook ASUS with me Serial Number: F*N*CX********* and Model: SQUAWKS D*A-F*F-A*T. I am speaking in this manner because I have been kicked out of these chat sessions about * times now so I've written this ahead of time.**My chromebook ASUS is reporting a problem regarding the OS it says it is either missing or broken. I recently contacted ASUS about this through phone contact. I managed to learn how to install the recovery image onto recovery media but wasn't able to get walked through every step of the way as the call took over an hour to make.**The downloading part of the process works just fine, the USB drive I'm using has * GB or *.** GB worth of space more than enough and with no other files in it to boot. However as soon as the recovery image has been written onto the USB after about an hour of waiting it suddenly pops up saying that there are now several USB devices in the same USB device. I call these "phantom drives".*These phantom drives range from F-P and are instantly created the second the download is finished (I've already tried erasing then redownloading through Cromebook Recovery Utility but it's still the same). Some "phantom" drives claim that they must be formatted to be used and others say I must insert a disk. I've gone to the trouble of checking each one to see if there are any files but there are not.**I have tried immediately ejecting the USB drive as soon as it has finished downloading. In these instances I retrieve the drive and place it in the Chromebook. The Chromebook goes for a while then stops saying an unexpected error has happened and to follow a link. I've already done so to no avail.
