Setting up new device, I accidentally changed language from English to Arabic or Thai or similar and could not get back to Home or Menu or Settings. ... Must reset language to English from unreadable script on new Garmin ***xs chartplotter
Garmin’s **-page (digital-only) manual has practically no graphics, not even an image of Home page to use as a guide. And the device is a chartplotter—all about graphics!
Through a boatyard, I found a Garmin rep who went to a unit in his store and talked me through a fix, telling me what to look for, i.e. “*nd of * buttons on right of screen...”
This is my sixth or seventh Garmin GPS or other marine device and have recommended it for years for its ease of use. Not this time.
Most frustrating was trying to enter my cell number in GetHuman app for a callback, and no matter what format I tried, it kept demanding a US or Canadian format, which was already in its system (with **) but wasn’t recognized in any form.
