I have had a contact with someone posing as family member on Facebook Messenger. The previous time it was found to be someone in Nigeria posing as my *nd cousin. They posed simple questions. Hello?, How are you doing? My reply I'm doing fine. The reply is I'm fine too, blah blah blah, Then, Have you heard the good news?**Then yesterday my Facebook Messenger indicated that I had a new message. It was my *nd cousins picture, With the message, Hello, with a descriptor that said this account had been connected to a new phone.**I replied, "I this the real Peggy Tipping?"**The reply, "Yes"**Then I was asked, "How am I doing?"**I replied, "I am fine"**The next reply was, "I am fine, then, Have you heard the good news?"**Then the lightbulb went off, I have heard this all before.**I called my *nd cousin and when she called back she told me that she hadn't been on Facebook Messenger for quite some time.**This bothers me when you have people posing as family members, then you have to make a decision is really your family member or not? No one should have to put up with this, if you respond, now they have your information. It's got to stop. I am so close to saying bye bye to Facebook all together.**What, will and can you do to prevent this from happening to all Facebook users?
GetHuman-nbuss did not yet indicate what Facebook should do to make this right.
