The issue in GetHuman-atcstudi's own words
I run a ***(c)(*) nonprofit that recently jumped through Facebook‘s hoops and got approved for the giving Tuesday donating campaign. We set up a Facebook fundraiser and during the course of a couple of weeks, which included giving Tuesday, we raised $****. Facebook claims that they take out no fees for fundraising campaigns for nonprofits. I recently received an email notice from them that $****.** had been deposited in the bank account I had to get approved by them. Well that’s great. Yes it did show up in our account. And yes, the remittance form said that it was for the period Ending November ** and our fundraiser ended December *. So… It’s possible there is more money coming. However absolutely no one donated an odd amount—all round numbers, no change. Even if they were paying out only what we raised to that date (which also makes no sense) it appears some sort of fee must have been taken out. I was told by them the week of Giving Tuesday that we had not qualified for their matching funds —no explanation. I had people deliberately donate through Facebook so their donation would be matched. So that was a huge misleading (lie?) statement on their part to begin with. Now, if we are only receiving $****.** of that $****, we have actually LOST money by running a fundraiser through Facebook (our donors went along with the campaign as an alternative to giving directly). I know it’s not much but we are a small arts nonprofit and we depend on our donations. What I am seeking is an explanation of the weird amount and assurance that we will receive the balance of our donations. If they actually match as they claimed they would (for the $ that came in on Giving Tuesday) even better!
