The issue in GetHuman-margsyma's own words
Login to messenger through the app on a new phone but with the same number. Updated messenger app won’t recognise me or my number. When I tap “that’s not me” it tries to create new profiles. ... Can’t login to messenger app. Am not on FB, just messenger. New phone, same number. Downloaded updated messenger app onto new phone. It only allows you * options. To login with FB or phone number. When you hit phone number it takes you to “sign up to messenger”. I add my number but it can’t locate my profile. I tap “thats not me” and it immediately tries to create another profile with my number. There are no options on how to stop this or help with direction. I took the phone back to the electronics store and they kept trying to delete it and reload it and adding my number etc.. It has now blocked me sayin “there are to many messenger only accounts being created with this number”. There is no one else using my number, only me. Can someone please help me to get back onto my messenger profile please?

Have a help section for messenger on the actual app for when this issue arises. Have a chat room so you can immediately get some sort of assistance instead of having to troll for hours and hours looking for some solution or trying to find someone to help you. I would like someone to contact me through email or phone to help resolve this please..
I have happily used the app for since it first became available in ****. I’m not on FB and don’t want to be either. And up until now have not had any real issues with it.
The updated version of the app does not give you any options for if you can’t locate your profile. Any assistance iv tried to get, even through the App Store on the app support itself, simple redirects you to Facebook assist and does not have anything to help with this issue. Tells you to delet the app and reload it and try your number again. All this has done is led it to blocking me..
