I submitted * prescriptions to the Costco Pearland Pharmacy on September *, **** for Nortriptyline and Topiramate which are medications that I have had filled here previously. I received the Nortriptyline and was told that the topiramate was out of stock and I would be contacted when it was in stock and my order was ready. I was contacted by Costco Pharmacy (Pearland) by text on ******, ******, ******* & ******* that my prescription ready and I picked up the product *******. After I arrived home I noticed that name was different on the prescription and I thought that they changed the generic name. "I didn't know". I am not in the medical field. I was about to take my normally prescribed dosage * tablets before bedtime and my daughter looked up the Medication name that I was given and informed me that Torsemide was not a generic for Topiramate. I contacted the Pharmacy at Pearland the next morning and was told that I bought in a prescription for Topiramate and I then informed them of what I was given, the Torsemide was given in ***mg tablets with the directions to take * daily as my directions with the Topiramate. I was instructed to bring the prescription back to the Pharmacy and that it would be exchanged for my correct prescription. I then received a call that the correct medication was out of stock and I would be contacted when it was restocked and ready for me to pick-up. I have not received a call that the correct prescription is ready for pick-up. The medication that I need is for treatment of Migraine headaches. I realize that this "Torsemide" could have resulted in a serious incident if not fatality. I would like your pharmacy staff to have a check and balance system put in place so no person will possible have a serious or fatal result of receiving the incorrect medication. I would like Costco accommodate me by a significant gift card*check to the store and free membership renewal.
