My mother is being bombarded with mail scams particularly lotteries from numerous overseas addresses. This mail is sent to her in her name and I was told that unless she requests this mail be returned to sender we as family cannot do this for her. Is this correct? Also, as far as bulk mailouts from overseas sources can this be stopped from being put in her mailbox? A family member is a recent Ottawa Police Seargeant dealing with fraud and he stated all overseas mail into Canada can be stopped by the postal inspector? What steps need to be done to accomplish this (i.e. request form)?*Please help. Elderly fraud is rampant and I feel Canada Post Corporation is in some way aiding and abetting in this practice by not stepping up when the concerns are brought forward !!
