The issue in GetHuman-thomaswb's own words
I had sent in a letter to have my registration renewed at the beginning of November and had not recieved any notice by the time my registration was a day away from being up for my vehicle. I got my vehicle registered in Virginia so that I would not be driving out of registration on the **th of November and had contacted my bank to cancel the check the next day (**NOV**) as to stop the registration in California. The check had not cleared till the **th of November and should have not been allowed to clear. Along with that the new registration is set for the **th of November when the old one was set to expire on the **th of November, causing a gap of registration when it was filed before the due date. Now that my vehicle had to be registered in Virginia prior to the expiration of my registration (date registered in Virginia-** November ****. Date registration ran out in California- **-November) I had to pay two separate fees and will be staying in Virginia and would like to request a return of the money used to register my vehicle in California ($***). The California registration will not be used and once it has been cleared and completed the forms along with the tags can either be sent back to the DMV or shredded.
