I am the registered owner of a vehicle with a recently closed lien from Toyota. I have confirmed with Pleasanton DMV that the lien is removed and now need to update my address and have the title documents and RC sent to my new location. I have been experiencing difficulties online with the Change of Address function as it seems to require updated Registration card details, which I do not possess. Despite conflicting information from DMV staff, I attempted to file a Request for Duplicate Title (REG [redacted] form) today at the Pleasanton office after being redirected from the Hayward office. However, after waiting for 90 minutes, I was advised of a 3-hour wait time and asked to go to another DMV location. I am unsure of the correct course of action now.

I recently passed my written test, but misunderstood the expiration date, thinking it was for the test not my permit. I completed my driving training without realizing my permit had expired. None of the DMV staff or my driving instructor informed me about renewing the permit. Now, after waiting for six months, I tried to schedule an appointment only to discover my permit had expired. It is frustrating that I was not advised to renew my permit before taking the test again.

I was given a ticket for a headlight being out two weeks ago by an officer who was training a new recruit. The process took a long time as the officer was explaining things to the trainee, and in the midst of it all, they forgot to return my license. I contacted the SFPD, but the officer who stopped me claims to have no idea where it could be. I now need to get a duplicate license, and as it was lost by the police department, I don't believe I should have to cover the cost of the replacement. Please assist me with this matter.

I visited the Los Angeles DMV on May 11th to renew my license and was issued a temporary one. It's been a month, and I haven't received any correspondence from the DMV. I had my roommates check the mailbox daily, but no letters have arrived. My temporary license is expiring soon, and I'm concerned. I'm currently in China and without my new ID to drive or rent a car, which is frustrating. I'm hoping the DMV can send a replacement license to my aunt's address so she can forward it to me promptly.

On April 23, [redacted], I submitted the filled-out title from both the buyer and seller, the registration renewal form provided by the seller, smog certification documents, as well as transfer and registration fees via mail. I am concerned about the status of my payment and documents. I am unsure if it was the correct method to transfer the title and meet DMV requirements. The online system has not reflected the transfer after five weeks. I may need to resubmit the paperwork and would appreciate guidance on the proper procedure for form completion.

There is currently a hold on the RV with the license plate 7vxy161 due to a situation involving my mother. She initially agreed to transfer ownership, signed a release of liability, and instructed me to proceed with the DMV process. Due to health issues in another state, I asked her to send the necessary paperwork for a family transfer. Subsequently, she allowed me to manage the transfer on her behalf. My mother struggles with mental health and memory problems. Despite her starting the transfer process, she now wishes to sell the RV without considering the time, money, and effort I've invested in refurbishing it for the past year and a half. Her change of heart conflicts with the signed release of liability. I'm uncertain if she genuinely changed her mind or if there is confusion. Although I care deeply for my mother, the RV project is essential to me. I'm willing to provide any required documentation to support our agreement. Please specify the appropriate channel for submitting documents. If her actions have caused any inconveniences, I apologize sincerely. Aging isn't simple. Feel free to reach out for further communication. - Shaun Shanklin

I own a vehicle over 20 years old registered out-of-state, and I need to transfer it to California registration. The San Jose DMV says I cannot do this without a title, but Connecticut, where it's registered, doesn't issue titles for cars older than 20 years due to state law. I have a letter from CT stating this, but the California DMV didn't accept it. I'm also supposed to transfer the registration from my mother to me as a gift. My options are: 1) Register the car to myself in CT before switching to California, still without getting a title because the car's over 20 years old. 2) We have the title from the [redacted] purchase with both my deceased father and mother listed, but CT doesn't recognize it for transfer due to its age.

I am currently without a permanent address and have misplaced my driver's license. I need to get a replacement and am uncertain about which documents to use for identification. Although I no longer live at my previous California address, I can provide evidence of residency with medical and utility bills from there until a few months ago. I am now house sitting elsewhere for three months. I need to replace my license and have it sent to the house sitting address. I want to know what documentation is necessary and if it is feasible to have the license mailed to an address different from the one on file. Before scheduling an appointment at the DMV and potentially missing work, I'd like to speak with an agent first to clarify the process. Thank you for your assistance!

I successfully completed all court-ordered programs, classes, and meetings related to my DUI by winter of [redacted]. I have been consistently paying my fines on time and am close to completing this final court obligation. My license suspension was lifted in early June, and I have submitted three positive reevaluation forms filled out by my longtime healthcare providers including addiction specialists. Despite their support and validation of my progress, all three reevaluations were denied without any explanation. Obtaining my license is crucial for me to move forward with my life, and I seek guidance on what steps to take next. I have encountered difficulties in obtaining clear and consistent information when reaching out to the California DMV before. I have no other legal issues and am committed to fulfilling any remaining requirements to regain my license. Your assistance in providing accurate and consistent guidance on resolving this issue promptly would be greatly appreciated.

I am facing a frustrating situation with my driver's license being suspended due to an error in the system. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) claims it's related to a DUI on my record, which I acquired in Virginia in [redacted]. At that time, I was licensed in Michigan. When I relocated to California, I couldn't obtain a license until fulfilling Virginia's requirements. After resolving this in [redacted], I updated my license with my new last name in [redacted] without any issues. Now, after inquiring about a missing renewal notice, I discovered a glitch linked my old out-of-state DUI to my current license, resulting in a suspension for not completing a California DUI program. Despite California not being involved in my initial DUI case, my license is suspended two years later. It's a frustrating and unfair situation.

While driving to Blythe around 11 pm, I got pulled over by the highway patrol for driving 43 in a 30-zone. Despite my assurance that I hadn't consumed alcohol, they suspected otherwise and conducted a field sobriety test. The officers concluded I was unfit to drive and administered a breathalyzer test, which I believe I passed as I don't drink. Despite this, they took me to the station where I had to provide a blood sample. I was then taken to what seemed like jail, where I stayed until 5 am before being released without any issues. I received a ticket for speeding and DUI drugs. I'm puzzled as to how they determined drugs without testing my blood sample at that time and would like to resolve this situation promptly.

I updated the car title with the DMV after receiving it as a gift from family, and now relocating, I am concerned about the title being sent to my old address instead of my P.O. Box. I discovered my new address on the registration card, but I'm hesitant to have the DMV send mail there due to roommates. I noticed both my new address and P.O. Box listed on the card with a checkmark next to the P.O. Box. My driver's license still displays my old address. Could you let me know where the title will be sent? Thank you for your assistance, C.

Hello, I am looking for guidance on titling leased vehicles, particularly concerning California titles. The issue we're facing at the Auto Auction where I work in Washington State involves the specific designations on these titles. For example, the Lessor is FMCC with LSR after their name, and the Lessee is Joe & Inga Smith. On the title, the Lessees are listed as Joe Smith LSE and Inga Smith (no designation after the name), with FMCC LSR. California Auctions claim that LSE only needs to be listed after one of the lessees' names. After discussing this with customer service and a senior technician who confirmed the LSE designation requirement, I am seeking documentation to support this. I am Michelle R., a title clerk at Dealers Auto Auction Seattle. You can reach me at [redacted] Ext [redacted]. Thank you.

1- I did not have all the necessary certified forms when renewing my license to receive the new "Real ID". The renewal process was set up as a regular renewal, and I now have the required forms. Can I change to the new ID without starting the process all over again and spending another 3 hours at the DMV? 2- My ophthalmologist checked the wrong box on the form he filled out after my eye exam. It stated that I needed corrective lenses, which I do not. The doctor is sending me a corrected form and can send it directly to the DMV if allowed. My temporary license currently indicates that I need corrective lenses, but in reality, I only use reading glasses for close-up work.

I recently attended a meeting that left me feeling frustrated. There was conflicting evidence presented about a situation involving the CHP accusing me of speeding. Despite my insistence that I was not speeding and even showing my insurance card, the CHP still issued me a ticket. I am planning to contest this in court as I believe there is conflicting testimony that should work in my favor. I hope the judge will carefully consider the evidence presented. I am disappointed in the CHP officer who accused me without proper justification.

I recently received my new REAL ID with an expiration date of [redacted] instead of the correct year. I returned to the DMV where I applied in July [redacted] and explained the situation to the management and staff. They informed me that I would have to redo the entire process. I expressed my frustration as I had already spent 3.5 hours in line during my initial visit. They suggested I either wait in line again or contact the DMV to file a complaint. My license expires on 9/11/18, and I renewed it on 7/30/[redacted]. I am disappointed with the inconvenience caused by the DMV's error. Please contact me at [redacted], my name is Glorietta Toledo. I can provide my DL number when you call. Thank you for your attention.

I purchased a car from a California dealer before moving to Kansas. Unfortunately, the dealer sent the title to my old California address. Despite following the DMV's instructions to submit the necessary paperwork and fees by mail in January, I have yet to receive a duplicate title at my new Kansas address. To make matters worse, there was a mistake in my VIN number recorded by the California DMV, causing my car registration to be suspended. This led to my car being impounded in Kansas, costing me $[redacted] to retrieve. Although the DMV has rectified the VIN error, I am unable to register my car in Kansas without the title. After contacting the DMV again, I was informed to resend the money and paperwork due to their non-receipt. I refuse to pay again and urgently require my title since this situation is unjust.

Three years ago, I had a DUI, which I fully resolved by completing classes, paying fines, and installing an interlock with Intoxalock for 5 months. I got an SR22 on my insurance as well. Recently, I lost my ID and went to the DMV on Cole Blvd in Hollywood for a replacement. They requested additional documents with my current address but did not mention a license suspension. I've avoided driving in Los Angeles, but when I recently had to drive again, I was stopped for a taillight issue and informed of a suspended license, receiving a misdemeanor ticket. I haven't had any legal problems since my DUI, and don’t understand why my license is suspended. I plan to contact Mandatory Actions to address this issue.

I want to share an update regarding my DUI program completion and obtaining my SR-22. The DMV MAU and court confirmed they have records of my enrollment and completion. However, the Rancho Cucamonga DMV office computer system has not been updated yet. I was advised to visit the DMV office with a $[redacted] reinstatement fee and take the written test to get my license. Despite this, when I revisited the DMV office, there was still no proof of my enrollment and completion. I am seeking assistance to ensure that my proof of enrollment and completion will be accurately updated in the Rancho Cucamonga DMV office computer system in California. Thank you for your help. - M. Good afternoon, My name is Ra Khiev. I own a [redacted] Yamaha Stryker Motorcycle registered in CA. I am actively serving in the Army and recently relocated from California to Boston, MA. Around 4 weeks ago, I consulted a CA DMV representative regarding my registration renewal. I was advised that with the military exemption, the fee would be $[redacted], though I recall the total being around $[redacted]. Upon checking the status 4 weeks later, I was informed that an additional $35 was due. I am now facing additional expenses for shipping and a money order, likely resulting in another month-long wait for my updated registration. It is crucial that representatives are knowledgeable about military exemptions, as I was given incorrect information about the total amount due, considering my change in station from CA. I inquired twice before submitting my documents and payment.
