The issue in GetHuman-tmbbarb's own words
I was told I need priorauthorization for a xyrem prescription. My doctor was faxed a form to fill out, and faxed it back. They were told they needed more information and had to fax over sleep study results, list of symptoms and medications tried and failed. They faxed the appropriate documents. They were then told my information did not match what was in the system, but it did. Then they were told priorauthorization was not needed for a xyrem prescription. I called the xyrem pharmacy to get my refill and was told insurance rejected the claim, priorauthorization was needed. I need to get a competent human on the phone to find out why they keep giving me and my doctors the run around and I need them to tell me if I need priorauthorization or not and to clearly communicate with the xyrem pharmacy if I don't. If I do need it then I need them to review and approve the forms my doctor has spent all week filling out so that I can actually receive my medication.
GetHuman-tmbbarb did not yet indicate what CVS Caremark should do to make this right.
