My MFC-J***DW ran out of ink. When I replaced the ink cartridge I got a message saying "cannot detect ink". What are the rules on ink for my printer. Do all the color cartridges have to be the same? Do the ink cartridges have a time limit? Can the printer print in black and white without color cartridges? Can any functions be performed without ink?
I recently bought a laser printer, so the MFC-J***DW is now in storage. I may want to reinstall it in the future. I need to know the rules about ink that the printer uses to decide if it will work.
