The issue in GetHuman-brettcal's own words
I had to replace my Nook a little over a year ago because B&N was no longer supporting the first addition. I stayed with B&N and purchased a Glowlight *. Less than a year after the purchase the lower left hand corner faded and a line running horizontally appeared. I didn't contact customer service because I could still make out the word in the lower left hand corner. Today, I (***lbs) sat on my Nook that's in a hard case and now half the screen is distorted. I didn't even put all of my weight on the nook because I felt the nook as soon as I started to sit down. I called customer service and they informed me I was past the warranty period and there was nothing the could do for me. I guess loyalty gets you nothing. I hope you enjoyed my business over the years because it stops today.
