I write this letter with the special assistance of a talking computer for the blind which has adaptive voice.I was informed the complaint was completed but recently discovered to my horror that the complaint was never even submitted by those in your company-Amtrak. On May **** took a train going from New Haven, CT. to Newark Penn Station, NJ and although Amtrak staff*conductors where all notified that I was a totally blind person traveling alone, they failed to take me off the train at my final destination.The conductor came to me on the train and apologized but the train kept moving. I ended up in Philadelphia PA. Then I was informed that the conductors of the train at Phila, PA. where going to assist me going back to my original destination this again was not the case. Arriving at Phila, PA assisted by a Amtrak PERSON, I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE pHILA, pa TRAIN HAD ALREADY LEFT LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES OF OUR ARRIVAL.aGAIN, STUCK AND NOW IN pHILA, pa WAS TAKEN BY YET ANOTHER Amtrak WORKER TOWARDS YET A THIRD TRAIN AGAIN TO ATTEMPT TO GO TO MY ORIGINAL DESTINATION OF Newark pENN sTATION,nj. fINALLY, ON A TRAIN GOING TOWARDS MY ORIGINAL DESTINATION THE Amtrak LOST MY CELL CHARGER AND A TWO HOUR TRIP ENDED UP TO BE A SIX and half HOUR TRIP WHICH WAS TRAUMATIZING AND I WAS DESTRAUGHT CRYING UNCONTROLLABLY AS I FELT LOST. I WAS A VICTIM OF A CRIME BEING SHOT IN THE HEAD IN A HOME INVASION AND THIS HEINOUS CRIME LEFT ME TOTALLY BLIND. although I WAS FEARFUL OF TRAVELING I MUSTARD UP THE COURAGE TO TRAVEL BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER JUST HAD A C-SECTION AND GAVE BIRTH TO A WONDERFUL LITTLE BABY BOY. tHE CONDUCTORS NOTIFIED MY DAUGHTER AND SHE WANTED TO GET OUT OF THE HOSPITAL AND DRIVE TO COME GET ME DUE TO THE TRAIN CONDUCTOR FORGETTING TO TAKE ME OFF THE TRAIN. tHIS WAS ALL THE MORE TERRIFYING TO ME AS MY DAUGHTER NEEDED TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAl. tHIS ENTIRE EVENT WAS DISTASTFUL, TRAUMATIZING AND DEGRADING AS I WAS TREATED AS A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN DUE TO MY DISABILITY. oVER AND OVER I WAS TREATED AS I DID NOT MATTER BECAUSE OF MY DISABILITY.i WISH FOR YOUR COMPANY TO REFUND MY TICKET AND COMPENSATE ME FOR TRAVELING FOR SIX AND HALF HOURS UNNECESSARILY, BEING TREATED LESS THAN HUMAN DUE TO MY DISABILITY, IGNORED AND HUMILIATED DUE TO MY DISABILITY.My charger WAS NEVER FOUND AFTER BEING TOLD SOMEONE FROM Amtrak FOUND IT. pLEASE RECTIFY THIS HORRIBLE ordeal.I am shocked that a company with your reputation would treat people with disabilities so poorly and disregard us as human being.
