Today is my check in, but Hurricane Michael took out the power in our entire region, so I called my destination to report that I can't leave my home without power (security system, freezers, etc. would be unattended), and would need to reschedule my visit. Host said she'd call the AirBnB company and then call me back in two hours. I waited all day, she never called. I texted her at * p.m. and she texted back that I have to change my own reservation, but the system won't let me. To reserve the only dates left on her calendar, I had to cancel today's reservation (without a refund) and rebook. Am I going to be charged twice? My host gave me verbal permission to do all this, but I'm very nervous. Help!
