Wifi service is horrible. Hard to get it to connect. When it does, the speeds are very inconsistent and typically extremely slow. Problems have become more frequent over the last few months. I have tried to troubleshoot it numerous times. If it does work, it is only temporary. I have unplugged the router and discharged the power. I have forgotten the connection on mobile devices, then added them back. I have tried resetting my network connections on them, and then adding them back. I have also tried changing the channel on the router. Nothing ever fixes it for very long. Also it seems to be greatly affected by rain. Every time it rains here, the speeds drop to under .** Mbps. One min I can have speeds of ** Mbps, then the next it bottoms out. And this happens when no other devices are using the internet. I have also ran speed tests on it and watch it start and jump immediately up to ** Mbps, but then in a split second, start falling all the way to under .** Mbps. But I can click on the wifi signal strength and it will have full bars of service, and say that the speeds are (at this moment ** Mbps), but the speed test shows *.** Mbps, and upload speed at *.** Mbps. This is beyond frustrating, and it goes way beyond what is acceptable from AT&T. This issue needs to be resolved immediately. Maybe start with replacing the router that is * years old with a newer model that is a dual band and has the capacity to handle both *.* Ghz and * Ghz frequencies. Considering that technology is constantly changing, maybe that router just can't handle these newer phones and devices.
GetHuman-jaymantl did not yet indicate what AT&T U-Verse should do to make this right.
