Why Can't I Withdraw Transferwise Money?

If you have a TransferWise card, you can use it to withdraw money like any other bank. You should be able to withdraw cash from all ATMs around the world. A certain amount of your first withdrawal is free. After that, you need to pay a withdrawal fee of 2%.

If you are curious about the amount you can withdraw for free, follow these steps:

1. Open Account in the app

2. Click ‘Manage card'

3. Click ‘See your limits'

4. Click ‘ATM withdrawals'

There are limits to the amount of money that you can withdraw. If you have trouble withdrawing money, it may be because you are exceeding your limit. The limit depends on the type of payment you wish to make. You may increase or check your spending limits. Click Account, Manage Card, and then ‘See Your Spending Limits.' However, there are many other possible reasons.

Whenever your card is declined, you will always see the reason in your activity list. Transferwise will send you an email notification as well. Other reasons for a declined withdrawal include:

1. Technical Problems

While this may not be a common problem, it is possible to experience technical problems. Your withdrawal may be declined if TransferWise cannot be connected with the merchant. A common solution for this issue is troubleshooting your browser. You may also delete your card information from the merchant's website before trying again.

2. A Frozen Card

If your card is frozen, it is impossible to withdraw money. Fortunately, you can unfreeze it on the app. Click ‘Account' and then ‘Defrost. You may also unfreeze it on their website.

3. Wrong Billing Address

When entering your card information to make online payments, you must enter accurate payments. Ensure that the address you enter matches what you have on your Account.

4. Your Card Doesn't Work In that Country

You cannot use your card in certain countries. Your withdrawal request may be denied if Mastercard is not accepted in your country. If you are curious about the countries where you can use your card, check out TransferWise's website or inquire from the support team.

5. Your Transaction Isn't Supported

If someone attempted to send money to your card, the payment will be rejected. You cannot receive money through your TransferWise card. Your transaction may also be blocked if it seems suspicious. If your transaction is blocked for security reasons, you won't always be told why.

6. You Card Isn't Active

If you have not yet activated your card, you cannot use it to withdraw money. All cards have to be activated before use.
