What is the waiting period for coverage?

The waiting period for coverage with Trupanion is 5 days. This means that any new illnesses or injuries your pet experiences within the first 5 days after policy activation will not be covered. However, any conditions that occur after this initial waiting period will be eligible for coverage, as long as they are not pre-existing. It is important to note that the waiting period only applies to new conditions and does not affect coverage for ongoing conditions that were existing prior to enrollment.
