What are raids and how do I participate in them?
In Pokémon GO, raids are cooperative multiplayer battles that take place at specific locations called Gyms. These challenging encounters allow players to team up with other trainers to battle powerful Pokémon known as Raid Bosses. Raids vary in difficulty, ranging from one to five stars, with higher-star raids featuring stronger Pokémon that require more teamwork to defeat.
To participate in a raid, a player must first locate a Gym that has a raid currently ongoing or is scheduled to begin soon. Players can check the map in the game for the raid icons, which indicate active and upcoming raids. Once at the Gym, players can join the raid by tapping on the raid icon. It is important to note that players need a Raid Pass to enter the battle. Each player receives one free Raid Pass per day, which can be obtained at Gyms, and additional passes may be purchased in the shop.
Upon joining the raid, players can select up to six Pokémon from their collection to form a battle team. They will then face the Raid Boss in an intense battle. When the Raid Boss is defeated, players have the opportunity to catch it, but this reward is not guaranteed. Engaging in raids is a great way to earn rare items, encounters with powerful Pokémon, and experience points, making it an essential aspect of the Pokémon GO experience.
