What is the process for obtaining a learner's permit?

Asked a year ago
To obtain a learner's permit in Mississippi, you must be at least 15 years old and pass a written knowledge test covering traffic laws and safe driving practices. You will also need to provide proof of identity, Social Security number, and residency in Mississippi. Additionally, you must have a parent or guardian sign a consent form stating they will supervise your driving practice. Once you have met all requirements and paid the applicable fee, you will be issued a learner's permit, which allows you to practice driving with a licensed adult in the vehicle. After holding the permit for a specific period of time and completing the required number of practice hours, you can apply for a provisional driver's license.
