Making a claim with Mapfre is relatively simple although lengthy, if you go to their website and click "make claim" the process is pretty straightforward. If you don't have some of the information required for an online claim, you can also call the company.

Filing a claim through Mapfre is fairly simple. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to mapfre.com. If you scroll down a bit, there should be a button that says "file claim." Click there.
  2. Next, it will ask you which type of claim you want to file. Either an auto claim, auto glass claim, or property claim.
  3. After verifying the type of claim you want to make, it will ask you to clarify whether you want to make a claim on behalf of a policyholder, or against a policyholder.
  4. Finally, it will have you enter the necessary information. If you're making a claim for your own policy you will need your policy number, mailing zip code, plate number and/or VIN number, as well as your last name or business name, and the date of the incident. However, if you're making a claim against a policyholder you will just need the date of the incident.
  5. After you fill out this information you will be taken to another series of pages which will require a lot of detailed information.

If you're making a claim against a policyholder then you will need some but not all of the information listed above, excluding your zip code. The more information you can supply the easier the process will be.

The date of the incident is the one piece of information you must have in order to move forward when making a claim against a Mapfre policyholder. Once you enter the basic information, the pages that you will have to fill out will be an incident report, details on your own vehicle and property, insured and other vehicles, other injuries and property, police and witness statements, and finally confirmation.
