There are a number of reasons why you might need to change the name on a flight you booked. You might have made a spelling error when buying the ticket, or the auto-fill might have accidentally filled in the wrong name. A company trip might suddenly need to be taken by somebody else. If you booked a flight with Icelandair and need to change the name on your ticket, just follow these instructions.
If you booked your flight through a third-party, you have to contact them to get your name changed.
Icelandair has no procedure for changing the name on a ticket. The only option it offers is canceling your flight and booking it again under the correct name.
1. Go to Icelandair's web page.
2. Sign in to your account.
3. Go to Icelandair's Request Form page.
4. Select Cancel Booking from the Type of Assistance drop-down menu.
5. Enter your name and email address under Contact Information.
6. Enter your flight's booking reference number and other flight details under Booking Details.
7. Complete the CAPTCHA.
8. Click on the Send button.
As long as your flight was scheduled for at least a week away, and you are making the cancellation within 24 hours of making the booking, you should qualify for free cancellation. Otherwise, cancellation fees may apply. The amount of these cancellation fees will depend on the type of ticket you bought. You will receive a refund to the same account you made the purchase with in five to seven business days.
If you need help canceling and rebooking your flight, you can contact Icelandair's customer service department and speak to a representative. You can get in touch with the customer service department by phone or by help forum .
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
After helping consumers for 10 years, we realized that you need an impartial, live person you can talk to about comparing the various TV, cable, Internet and phone plans in your area- somebody who can compare the best deals across telecom providers. So we created a free concierge service you can call at the phone number below.
