How Do I Make a Custom GoToMeeting?
GoToMeeting is a video call platform where you can have meetings with as many as 250 participants. The meetings can either be large generic ones or personal, customized ones.
GoToMeeting has a desktop and mobile app. Both allow you to create a customized meeting according to your personal tastes and preferences.
Customizing a meeting involves putting your unique stamp on a video call, a feature which many video streaming platforms do not allow you. You do so by designing your own virtual meeting room.
Customization also serves the purpose of making the attendee feel like they are in a professional environment. Based on your work, you can design the meeting room to have a very specific theme.
Creating a Meeting Room
The process of creating a custom GoToMeeting starts with first creating a meeting room. The process involves the following steps:
1. Log in to the GoToMeeting website and download the app if you do not already have it. If you do, simply launch the app.
2. Click ‘Settings' from the left side of the homepage.
3. Select ‘Personal Meeting Page' and below it click ‘Let's get started.'
4. At this point, you will have to select a name for your meeting page. The meeting name will appear at the end of your join URL. If the name is still available, you should see a check mark next to the dialog box. If it is taken, a pop-up message will appear prompting you to enter a different name.
5. Click ‘Reserve' when finished and you will have successfully created a meeting room. You can now proceed to customizing your meeting room.
Customizing the Meeting Room
1. Launch the GoToMeeting desktop app.
2. Click ‘My Personal Meeting Room' to open the details of your meeting.
3. Click ‘Edit' to make changes to the meeting room.
4. The ‘Meeting' tab will direct you to where you can make changes to the meeting name, attendees and password. The ‘Audio' tab will allow you to select the audio options that will be available to the attendees.
5. Click ‘Save' to finish making your changes.
Changing Meeting Room URL and title
You can make other changes to your meeting room including changing your meeting title and URL. The process involves the following steps:
1. Launch the GoToMeeting app.
2. Click ‘My Personal Meeting Room' to see details of your meeting.
3. Click ‘Personalize' to make any changes to the meeting.
4. You will see the meeting link where you can change the join URL. When you change it, it immediately becomes available for use by other app users.
5. You can also change the title of the meeting at this point.
6. Click ‘Preview' to get an overview of what your meeting will look like with the new changes.
7. Click ‘Save' when finished to effect the changes.
Starting Your Meeting
Now that you have made all the necessary changes to your meeting, it is time to start it. you can start your custom GoToMeeting in either of two ways.
The first is through the desktop app and the second way is through the GoToMeeting Hub webpage.
To start the meeting using the GoToMeeting desktop app, all you have to do is open the app. The app will automatically launch the meeting if it is time for the meeting to start.
For the GoToMeeting Hub page, you will have to log in and click ‘My Personal Meeting Room'. Once there you should see the meeting details. Click the ‘Start' button to begin the meeting.
