How Do I Change the Background on GoToMeeting?

GoToMeeting is a web-based video conferencing platform that has been in existence for 16 years. The application allows up to 250 people to participate in an online meeting.

When you first use the app, you can choose to use the free trial version. However, it lacks many features and if you want to continue using the app, you will have to pay for it.

There are two types of memberships on GoToMeeting. They are the business and professional accounts which allow you up to 250 and 150 meeting attendees respectively.

The accounts are those that want to host meetings. You do not need an account to simply join a meeting.

When setting up a meeting on GoToMeeting, you will have to first create a meeting room. The meeting room is the virtual space where you will be conducting your meeting.

You are allowed to customize your GoToMeeting room and make a great deal of changes. One of them is to change the background which means changing the backdrop of your meeting room.

That is not a feature specific to GoToMeeting as many other videoconferencing applications allow you to do the same thing. However, the options for changing your background will be slightly different.

The plain background on a meeting can be boring hence the need to change it. Moreover, you may want to change the background to an image that is relevant to the meeting you are having such as a company logo.

You may also want to change the background of your meeting to make it more relaxing. A forest or a lake scenery are two backgrounds that will definitely achieve that goal.

You should take into account the preferences of your meeting attendees before choosing a background. For example, a background with flashing lights may negatively affect epileptic people.

Therefore, it is best to go with a neutral background that will be fine for whoever attends the meeting. There will be other considerations to be made as well such

Changing the Background

You can only change the background of a GoToMeeting if you are the administrator of the account holding the meeting. The good news is that as the account administrator, you can customize the background with any picture you please.

However, there are restrictions to the picture you can use as a background. For starters, the image can only be a.PNG or .JPG file. The image should also be less than 1920×1080 pixels and 10 MB in size.
