How do I delete a message or conversation in Messenger?

To delete a message or an entire conversation in Facebook Messenger, open the conversation first. If you only want to remove one message, press and hold that message until the menu appears, then choose Remove. In many cases, you will see an option to remove it for yourself, or remove it for everyone if the message is still eligible for that setting. If you choose to remove it only for yourself, the other person can still see it. If you want to delete the whole conversation, go back to the chat list. On the conversation, open the options menu, then choose Delete or Delete chat. That removes the thread from your account, but it does not necessarily erase it from the other person’s inbox.
