ComEd is responsible for maintaining the wires that deliver electricity to your home, up to the point where they connect to your home’s electrical system. The homeowner is responsible for the wires and equipment beyond that connection point.

We're sorry to hear about your concerns. At ComEd, customer safety and comfort are prioritized. In most cases, power disconnections are done as a last resort and often after multiple notices. If there's a serious safety risk involved, the power might be disconnected. But ComEd also has policies in place to avoid disconnections during extreme weather, including high heat. However, for a specific situation, you should check the notice you received or log in to your account for the most accurate information or contact ComEd directly.

To change your apartment number with ComEd, you'll need to log into your online account and update your address information. Go to the "My Profile" section and click on "Contact Information". Here, you can edit your current details. Make sure to save your changes after updating to B102 from B108. If you encounter problems while updating your details, it's best to call Comed's customer service for further assistance. Please remember to do this as soon as possible to ensure that your bill and other correspondence are sent to the correct address.

When conducting construction work near power lines with scaffolding, safety is paramount. Always maintain a safe distance from power lines. As a general guideline, stay at least 10 feet away from overhead power lines. If you are working on larger power lines with higher voltages, you may need to increase this distance. Remember, you don't have to contact a power line for it to be dangerous. Electricity can jump or "arc" from a line to a conductive object, like a ladder or scaffolding. If you are unsure about safe distances or have concerns about power lines near your construction site, please contact a qualified professional.
