What should I do if I see a downed power line?

Asked 6 months ago
If you see a downed power line, it is critical to stay at least 30 feet away and never touch it or any objects it may be in contact with. The line could still be live and pose a serious danger. Keep others, especially children, away from the area and call your local power company immediately to report the issue. Do not attempt to move the power line or drive over it. Stay inside your vehicle if a power line falls on it and wait for help to arrive. Remember to always assume that any downed power line is energized and potentially deadly.
