Allstate provides many insurance products, ranging from its well-known auto to home, renters, motorcycle, business, and term life policies. With so many products, what does an Allstate customer do if a claim needs to be filed? How can a customer check on a claim? The answers to those questions will depend on the type of claim. You can use either the app or the My Account section to file and track your claim. The only claims that cannot be filed or tracked through those methods are flood claims, life claims, and annuity claims. For those, please visit Allstate's how to file other claims section for details.

Tracking a Claim You Recently Filed

If you filed a claim, tracking it is pretty straightforward through the website and app, as follows"

  1. Go to Allstate.com.
  2. Click on the claims tab and select track a claim on the dropdown menu. You will be prompted to log in to your Allstate account. Please note that non-Allstate customers will be prompted to create or log into a guest account to track the claim.
  3. If you use the app, open it and log into your account, if needed, and open the claims section which might be a separate tab or listed under My Account.
The Claims Process Explained

When a claim is submitted, you will receive a claim number for easier tracking. Then, you may be contacted by them or be asked to contact one of Allstate's claims representatives. They will help you through the claims process, answering your questions and concerns. When you receive the damage assessment, Allstate will also help with the repair choices and any estimates. The settlement you may later receive will be based on your policy coverages.

Allstate has more information regarding the claims process at Allstate.com/claims. One there, click on the corresponding icon for your type of claim. You will find this under the Learn More About the Claims Process paragraph under the File a Claim section.
