The following are issues that customers reported to GetHuman about Tinder customer service, archive #55. It includes a selection of 20 issue(s) reported November 16, 2019 onward. If you have a similar customer service issue, this page will help you find current, up-to-date answers and solutions too.
I have contacted the company multiple times to stop charges of almost $70 a month on my credit card. Despite reaching out four times in writing, calling twice, and explaining I do not use the service and had canceled it, the charges continued for six months. I only use Tinder, not the service charging me. I did everything asked of me to cancel, even seeking advice from my bank, yet the charges persisted. Being penalized for this is unfair as I was proactive in trying to resolve the issue. The lack of response and continuous charges are dishonest treatment towards a customer who acted in good faith. If I am banned due to this, it reflects poorly on your business. I have been transparent and diligent in following instructions to cancel the service. Your records will confirm my efforts to rectify the situation. Thank you.
Sincerely,
J. Walker

Hello,
I currently have a Tinder Plus subscription but previously had Tinder Gold, which I canceled. Recently, my subscription was automatically upgraded to Tinder Gold. The price increase to £15 is too much for me, as I don't use the extra features. I believe the charge was due to my new card on my Google account. I would like a refund as a loyal customer. I have already canceled the Tinder Gold subscription. My email on Google account is [redacted]
Thank you.
Regards,
Maas L.

I need help with two issues. Firstly, I need to cancel 11 subscriptions and prevent future payments. Secondly, I am seeking refunds. Recently, my son, who is autistic, used my Visa Card without my knowledge to sign up for 11 subscriptions between October 11th and 14th in [redacted]. When I noticed these unauthorized charges on my Visa statement within the 14-day refund period offered by Tinder, I immediately contacted them for a refund. Unfortunately, I did not have the necessary order details as my son had deleted all the emails from Tinder. To my dismay, I discovered that these were not one-time payments but recurring charges. I have already canceled my Visa Card to prevent further charges, but I am worried about ongoing payments. I am reaching out for assistance on how to stop future charges and request refunds for the unauthorized payments made due to my son's actions. I hope to clarify this situation with Tinder and would appreciate any help with this matter.

Hello Tinder Support Team,
I am writing to address an issue with my Tinder account. My name is Lorenzo Diblasi, and my email is [redacted] My phone number is +1-[redacted]. I started using Tinder in fall [redacted] during my freshman year of college. Unfortunately, I was unexpectedly reported and banned from the platform, despite being a respectful paid user with a Golden Plus subscription. I have attempted to resolve this matter by emailing your team multiple times in the past, but received no response or resolution. Now, after a year has passed, I am reaching out again in the hopes of reinstating my account. I feel a void without being able to use Tinder and am genuinely seeking a significant other. I am willing to do whatever it takes to regain access to Tinder and potentially purchase a subscription. If there is any way you can assist me in resolving this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Please let me know how we can proceed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello,
I subscribed to Tinder Gold but I'm not getting any matches despite having a wide age range and distance settings. I've tried logging out, logging back in, restoring purchases, and checking for app updates, but still no matches. I downloaded the app just yesterday, so it doesn't need an update. The search for matches icon keeps loading for a long time only to inform me that I have no matches. The only thing I see are "10 top picks," but I get an error message when I try to swipe left or right. The only thing that works is super liking some of the "top picks." I've tried accessing the website on my phone, tablet, and laptop, but the problem persists. I've paid a lot of money for the location feature, but it's not working.

I would like to bring to your attention a concerning individual named Greg Voss. He often uses various email addresses and frequents multiple dating sites, even internationally. Typically, he does not upload a profile picture. On platforms such as Match and Meetville, he sometimes uses his real information but also creates fake accounts. He exhibits behavior indicative of a sex addiction, actively engaging with women through dating sites, chat rooms, and video chatting apps. Greg tends to target women aged 18-25, despite being 39 years old with a 16-year-old daughter and a 21-year-old son. He employs manipulation tactics, portraying himself as sweet, romantic, and victimized by his ex-partner to gain sympathy and eventually coerce women into sending photos. Greg uses text and burner apps to communicate, often providing false information about his identity and disappearing once his deception is unveiled. It's crucial to address this issue to prevent further harm. His real name is Gregory Voss, and it has been discovered that he works at Big Number One Motor Sports in Homewood, Alabama, and resides in Adamsville, Alabama. Hello Team,
I am reaching out about my Tinder Plus subscription. I made the purchase on November 10th through the Tinder app using my debit card. Recently, I deleted my account and created a new one with the same phone number. Initially, I did not receive any confirmation email as my email was not verified at the time, but I have since verified it.
Now, when I try to restore the subscription through the app, it is requesting a confirmation number which I never received and am unable to restore it without it.
Could you please investigate this matter since my number is linked to the Tinder Plus subscription in your system, or kindly provide me with the confirmation number needed for restoration.
Thank you,
Ishan V.

I bought Tinder Gold for the first time on November 14. However, on November 16, my app started lagging, showing 1 unread message that I couldn't access no matter what I did. This has happened before, and restarting the phone usually fixed it without needing to reinstall the app. But after restarting, I found that I was logged out, and the phone number I used to log in had expired the same day I had issues. I can't recover my account now, but it's linked to my current email. I reached out to Tinder Support but haven't received any response. I'm frustrated because I made a purchase with a 50% discount offer and now can't access my account. My hard-earned money is involved, and I can't just let this go without a resolution. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

It's been a year since I last used Tinder. When I recently tried to log in, I discovered that my account had been banned due to changes in Tinder's Terms and Privacy Policy that occurred while I was inactive. Unfortunately, I was not informed about these changes prior to my ban. It's frustrating that Tinder is holding me accountable for something I was unaware of. I feel unfairly targeted by this situation. If anyone has any advice or thoughts on how to address this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I am having trouble accessing my account. When I try to log in using Facebook, I receive an error message saying "logged in as Donna Miller," but it does not proceed to my account. Instead, it just offers to cancel or log out, both of which lead me back to the login screen. Occasionally, I end up opening a new account unintentionally, which I promptly delete. Even my phone number is not recognized. A friend managed to view my active profile and send me a screenshot, confirming my account is still active. Unsure of what steps to take next.

Hello,
I need to report an incident where I encountered rude behavior from a person who subsequently unmatched me.
The situation arose when I found myself in a peculiar scenario where I was engaging with her on Tinder while also interacting with her friend on another dating platform. Despite my efforts to maintain a friendly and positive conversation, even light-heartedly addressing the unusual circumstance, both individuals unexpectedly turned hostile. They began using offensive language, swearing, and hurling insults on both apps. Despite my attempts to remain friendly amidst the negativity, she ultimately unmatched me.
As we are no longer connected, I am unable to report this behavior directly. However, I believe it is important to address this issue. Any guidance on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello,
I am sending this message to request the lifting of my ban from Tinder that was implemented a few months back.
I realize that this appeal might not be the standard procedure, but I kindly ask for your consideration and attention to my situation.
I acknowledge that some of my past actions on your platform were not appropriate. My behavior was influenced by my addiction to the thrill of matching with attractive individuals and the aspect of gamification on the app. This led me to feeling overly distracted, frustrated, and anxious. I have been actively working on understanding this addictive behavior through therapy and research on dopamine. I comprehend that my actions violated your terms of service, likely resulting in multiple reports against me. However, I believe in the concept of redemption and genuinely request an opportunity to prove myself on the platform once again. If you were to speak to the women I met through the app, they would vouch for my respectful and enjoyable interactions.
I admit to not thoroughly reading your lengthy terms of service previously, which contributed to my unawareness of the boundaries set by the platform.
I am reaching out to inquire if there is any possibility of having the lifetime ban overturned so I can regain access to your app.
Thank you for your time.
Ollie

It seems like Tinder removed the "heart" and "red x" buttons from the main display of profiles, making it frustrating for users to navigate and match. The user expressed the importance of having these buttons easily accessible for a smoother dating experience. They wish to provide feedback to Tinder about this issue and request the buttons to be put back for better functionality.

This is my third attempt to bring up my concern. I appreciate the reporting and unmatching functions on Tinder, but for three consecutive days, regardless of my use of the app, I received notifications prompting me to check it with the same transgender individual repeatedly appearing. I unmatched and reported them multiple times. After expressing my frustration angrily towards Tinder's administration due to past traumatic experiences, my account, which I paid for, was banned. I feel distressed by the lack of action taken to prevent harassment and the subsequent punishment I received. I believe these issues need prompt resolution to prevent further harm.

I'm having an issue with the app. I've been a Tinder user for over a year now, and recently I accidentally deleted the app. When I downloaded it again, it still had my previous profile with all my matches. I left the app briefly, and when I returned, I found myself signed out. I tried to log back in using my phone number, but the number linked to my account is no longer in service. Then I attempted to sign in with my email, but it kept redirecting me to another page. Frustrated, I created a new account with the same email and a different number. However, despite swiping right on numerous people for 4 days, I haven't received any matches. This is unusual for me, so I tested a Theory by swiping right on many people in one go. When I woke up the next morning, I still had no matches. I've tried logging out, deleting the app, updating my phone, and more, but I'm still facing issues. I'd appreciate some assistance to understand what's wrong with the app and possibly recover my old account. Thank you.

My account is currently showing as banned, and I am uncertain as to why this action has been taken. The most recent activity I engaged in was a couple of weeks ago. I sent messages to some of my matches suggesting that we continue our conversations on Snapchat due to the app consistently crashing on my device. The app would crash before I could access my messages. Over the past month, I also experienced issues with matches and messages not appearing. I believe I have not violated any policies, as my interactions have been respectful and non-sexual. I kindly request for the ban to be lifted so I can resume using the app as intended. Hopefully, many of the technical glitches have been resolved, but my main goal is simply to engage in conversations. I hope this matter can be addressed promptly. Thank you.

Every Sunday, and this is the second Sunday, the geolocation service stops working. Can you explain what's happening? I want to be compensated for this inconvenience. I have uninstalled it on various devices, but it still doesn't work, not even on my desktop computer. Could you please tell me what's going on?
I want to mention that I can give unlimited likes, but for some reason, this seems to be blocking one of your algorithms. It's the second Sunday that I'm experiencing this issue. Please call me because I'm starting to leave negative reviews about this matter, and then I expect to be compensated. Please resolve the problem.

I encountered a scammer on this site and have all the texts and pictures as evidence. Could someone please provide me with the necessary information on how to report this person to the authorities? The scammer was trying to deceive me into checking an account online that allegedly contained $1,[redacted],[redacted].00. Eventually, they requested $4,[redacted] from me under false pretenses related to their retirement, among other things. When I confronted them, they attempted to cover up their tracks. However, they reached out to me again this morning.

I canceled my Tinder subscription months ago, but I am still getting charged through the automatic renewal system. I have no active subscriptions, and when I try to cancel on the app, it says there is no card on file even though they are still charging me. I am unable to cancel the subscription, and it seems like there is no active one on file to start with.
