We submitted our joint [redacted] income taxes by mail with a $1,[redacted] check for the amount due and received a confirmation that the IRS had received and signed for our tax return. However, we recently got a letter from the IRS stating they have credited $6,[redacted] to our account but have not received our tax return. The letter requests a newly signed copy of the return with attached schedules and documents from the original submission to avoid losing the credit.
The letter provides a number to contact ([redacted]) but due to high call volume, we have not been able to reach them. The notice received is CP80 for tax year [redacted], dated January 24, [redacted]. We are concerned about the legitimacy of the letter and whether we need to send in all the requested copies. We are unsure if signing the newly requested form with the current date makes it seem like a late filing. We have copies of both the unsigned and signed versions of the return.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I received a letter dated August 23, [redacted], from the IRS, but I haven't heard back since I responded. I filed my taxes promptly using TurboTax without an extension and was expecting a refund of $3,[redacted].41. Later, I amended my taxes because I thought I made a mistake with the stimulus question and ended up overpaying by $1,[redacted]. Now, with the new tax season approaching, I'm hesitant to file my taxes fearing I won't receive any refund.
The phone number provided seems to be for payments only, not for refunds. The tax year in question is [redacted], and the last four digits of my social security number are [redacted]. Please note that I can be reached at [redacted] after 4:00 PM Central Time, and there won't be a recording. I request my tax return with the appropriate interest be sent to me promptly.
Sincerely,
Kathy K.

My name is Jeremiah Young Main, and I am reaching out regarding my missing stimulus checks. My brother, Eric Hillery Main, assisted with the application process and was tasked with mailing the checks to me. Unfortunately, I later discovered that he had deposited them into his own bank account. Upon contacting the IRS, I was informed that the checks were redirected to Eric's account. I am puzzled as to how he managed to cash them without my authorization. I urgently require this financial assistance, as I am currently facing financial hardship. Your support in recovering these funds would be greatly appreciated.

I amended my husband's and my [redacted] tax return in May [redacted]. We were owed $3,[redacted], but only received a $[redacted] deposit in August. Despite no letters received, both our tax transcripts and TurboTax account show IRS paid the full amount for the amendment. We were eligible for Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) payments, supported by custody and power of attorney. IRS initially confirmed this on the online portal but later changed our status without notification. Dissatisfied, we received $5,[redacted] initially and expected $3,[redacted] from the amendment. IRS documentation shows they paid us $8,[redacted] last year, which is inaccurate. I managed all required documentation. The delayed resolution needs attention as IRS incorrectly claims to have already paid us. Request an immediate review and correction of this error as it can easily be verified within 30 minutes.

Last year, I submitted my taxes with assistance from a representative via phone. I was informed that the filing was accepted, and a refund was on its way. However, the refund never arrived, nor did I receive any explanation. I also did not receive my third stimulus payment. When reaching out to the IRS customer service, I was informed that my stimulus was returned to the IRS and could be resent only to the address on file, which is incorrect. The representative suggested not updating my address until my taxes are processed. They advised against initiating a payment trace, suggesting I wait for my taxes to be processed and then update my address or opt for direct deposit, as indicated on my tax details. Now, as it's time to file again, and I still lack information about last year and the stimulus, I am uncertain how to proceed and would appreciate any guidance. Thank you.

To receive the third stimulus payment, even though you haven't worked for over 20 years but filed your [redacted] taxes with H&R Block, you may still be eligible. The IRS might have your information to send you the payment. Look into the letter you received recently for guidance. It's recommended to wait and see if the payment is automatically processed for you. If you need further assistance, consider reaching out to the IRS directly for clarification.

In the past two years, I've experienced issues with the IRS due to incorrect information they had on file - my social security number and name were both inaccurate. This resulted in not receiving any tax refunds despite having a two-year-old baby. I've tried to rectify this with the IRS to no avail. I also have concerns about the company I work for, Tunheim Construction, which is well-known for their projects. Unfortunately, I've had trouble getting in touch with the right departments to address these issues. Furthermore, I've faced challenges with getting social security benefits due to foot surgeries and am currently dealing with contract and payment problems with my employer. It's been a frustrating experience, and I feel like I'm not being heard or helped adequately. I'm seeking assistance promptly to resolve these matters before considering legal action.

When I attempt to log into my IRS account, I encounter an error message stating, "A condition has been identified that's preventing your access to this serviceā with error code [redacted].
After reaching out to Id.me, they advised me to contact the IRS to address this problem. Upon contacting the IRS, the representative I spoke with was unable to assist me with this specific error. I inquired about the appropriate department or phone number at the IRS to address this concern, but they were unable to provide any useful information.
I then attempted to search for a solution online but was unsuccessful in finding one apart from a generic suggestion to "Call the IRS", which proved unhelpful.
As I did not receive a [redacted] letter and need the child tax credit amount for my taxes, I am eager to resolve this issue promptly.
Sincerely,
Eliziene

My children's father, Shane, filed taxes for our kids without my consent. He has not supported them in three years, and I had a protection order against him last year. He received all the tax credits, and my children did not benefit. When I tried to file this year, I was rejected as he had already claimed them without informing me. Please assist me in preventing him from receiving this money meant for my children, as he is a drug addict.

The Travel Inn Hotel at [redacted] 12th St. in Fortuna, CA has been in operation for over 15 years without paying taxes. Since the original owner passed away, there are now four individuals managing the hotel. Various crimes are allegedly taking place, such as identity theft. I first reported this issue over five years ago. When my phone was disconnected, I was unable to be reached by an employee I had informed about the situation. Upon finally contacting her, she declined to discuss the matter as she had been unable to reach me for further details. The hotel seems to be attracting dangerous individuals to the community, leading to concerns. Despite reporting these issues to the police, they have been unable to take action as it involves a business. The reported wrongdoings include drug-related activities, bank theft, identity theft, and cybercrimes.

I am frustrated beyond words. Since February, I have been trying to reach a human at the specific EIN-specialty number I was given ([redacted]). Today, on 2/11/22, I opted for a callback from this number. After confirming it was me, I was put on hold for transfer. I waited on hold from 12:00 noon (CST) until almost 2:50 PM (CST) when an automated voice abruptly cut me off, saying, "sorry, you'll have to call back later." My issue cannot be resolved online. I am the sole executor of my parents' estate, who both passed away at the end of [redacted] within three weeks of each other. After completing the probate/legal process that started on 12/22/20, I promptly requested a 6-month IRS extension for estate taxes. This is why I have been calling relentlessly, but I cannot seem to reach a human being. It is incredibly frustrating to be forced to wait for hours only to be disconnected. Dealing with government entities can really drive a person to the edge.

I have already filed my [redacted] tax return, but mistakenly indicated "NO" to receiving the third stimulus since I confused the year. I did not receive a [redacted] besides the child advance tax credit. Should I submit an amended return or will this error be corrected automatically? Additionally, my son, who was a full-time student dependent last tax season but is now working full time, should have been eligible for the stimulus credit. I need to verify the total amount claimed. Since he is filing his own taxes this year, not as my dependent, he's unsure how to answer the question about receiving the third stimulus, as the stimulus may have been included in my previous refund.

I e-filed my federal tax return on February 15, [redacted], through the IRS free file fillable form system. According to the process, I should have received an email within 24-48 hours notifying me if the return was accepted or rejected, along with instructions for correction if needed. However, I did not receive the email. Checking the return status on the fillable form system revealed that my return was indeed rejected, accompanied by an explanation in what appeared to be XML code that I couldn't decipher. I made my best attempt to correct the issue and resubmitted the return on February 18, [redacted], only to face another rejection with the same incomprehensible explanation. To complicate matters, I never received an email explaining the reason for the rejection. My efforts to contact the IRS by phone have been fruitless. It appears to be a coding issue rather than an error in my form completion. Can anyone assist in resolving the problem or contacting the IRS?

I submitted my tax return on February 2nd through TurboTax and was initially informed that I would receive a refund of $[redacted]. When I checked the status of my return on the IRS2Go app, it indicated that the IRS had made changes and I now owe $82, resulting in a total of $[redacted] when combined with my refund, the amount of the 3rd stimulus payment from last March. I do not have any dependents or deductions, my W-4 is all zeros, and I did not claim the Child Tax Credit as I have no children. In my Federal Return, form [redacted], both boxes 30 and 32 show $[redacted]. I am puzzled by why I owe $82 as I have made no errors on my end. My income last year was $21,[redacted], and I filed as single. This situation is perplexing to me as I have never had to owe Federal taxes before.

I used Tax Act to file my taxes, ensuring that all information was accurate for a refund. However, the program now states I'm not receiving the expected refund due to errors unrelated to my input. The message cites adjustments to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount, listing potential issues like missing social security numbers, mismatched last names for dependents, or exceeding age limits or income thresholds. Despite my meticulous filing, these errors persist, hindering my entitled refund. I urge IRS officials to review my return and rectify any discrepancies on their end to ensure I receive the correct refund amount.

I am still waiting for my amended tax returns from [redacted]. I am frustrated with the delay. After waiting months for an IRS appointment and not receiving the returns, I scheduled an in-person appointment. It has been 19 weeks since the appointment, and I am still without the documents. To add to the frustration, I was told on the phone that they have no record of my second part from working at FedEx for my [redacted] tax return. Despite seeing it in my H&R Block app, I am asked to redo the part and face another waiting period. These delays are causing me significant stress, and I am unsure of what to do next.

I have encountered issues with the customer service system while trying to resolve a CP2000 notice for $[redacted], which I received on January 3, [redacted], as a representative of my late wife. I am unable to obtain required information from Morgan Stanley without a death certificate. As a third party, I am unable to access details until I complete their paperwork. The impending interest charges will not push me to pay without a thorough review. My AUR# is 50[redacted]. I urge for assistance without disruptions or premature disconnections during communication.

I am inquiring about my [redacted] federal income tax status. I initially filed with Free Tax USA and was expecting a refund of $1,[redacted]. Then, I filed through Nationwide Fast Tax and was expecting $[redacted].05 back. I thought the $1,[redacted] refund did not go through, so I filed again with Nationwide Fast Tax. I am unsure which amount is correct. I am seeking information regarding when I will receive my refund and the correct amount. Additionally, I have not received the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stimulus payments. If I am owed these payments, I will need to amend my [redacted] tax return. Please review my income tax filing and stimulus payments to ensure all amounts are accurate and send out any owed stimulus payments. Thank you.

My husband and I recently received a letter indicating we each received a tax credit of $[redacted] last year. We haven't received the correct total of $[redacted]. We have been raising our grandson, but his mother, with whom he doesn't live, has been receiving the credit. Last year, in [redacted], we filed a mail-in tax return with our grandson as a dependent. We are curious about the whereabouts of the missing $[redacted].

I worked in Georgia but lived on a military base in Florida for the entirety of [redacted]. I left my job before November [redacted] as my military duties required me to relocate overseas. I updated my address to Georgia in December before my tax documents were sent out. The IRS is now saying I owe state taxes to Georgia, but I didn't actually reside in Georgia at any point during [redacted], only worked there. What steps can I take to address this matter before filing my taxes?
