I received two letters on Nov 15, [redacted]. One states that I owe $[redacted].93, while the other indicates I owe 0.00. When I contacted the automated IRS line, it indicates I owe 0.00, yet online it shows the $[redacted].93 debt. I'd like to speak with a representative to clarify the situation. In [redacted], I mistakenly deposited $7,[redacted] twice into my self-directed IRA, with one contribution intended for [redacted] and the other for [redacted]. Despite correcting the error, I suspect there is a discrepancy between the paperwork and the system. I am concerned as the online notice suggests a potential lien on my property. Kind regards, Anne E. Homer

I assisted with the tax filing for my deceased uncle, Alvin Plummer, SSN: [redacted]-24-[redacted]. I sent the completed form on April 1, [redacted] and later received an identity verification form (#5071C) dated May 6, [redacted]. Following the instructions, I verified my identity on the website in May [redacted]. However, since then, there has been no further communication or update on my status. I checked my status, but it remains unchanged since May. I am uncertain why there has been no progress, and I am seeking guidance on any additional steps I may need to take. Regards, Deborah A. Muns

Last year there was a significant error in my income calculation, which has since been corrected. However, my current Social Security benefits seem to be affected by high Medicare payments due to calculations based on the mistaken [redacted] income. The Medicare Part B premium for [redacted] is $[redacted].30, including Standard Medicare Premium of $[redacted].10 and Part B IRMAA of $[redacted].20 based on my income, along with my separately purchased Part D at $71.30. The total deduction from my benefits is $[redacted].60, leaving me with $1,[redacted].70, a decrease from the previous year. I am seeking clarification whether this deduction is standard for Medicare increases. Additionally, I am unsure if my drug plan should be included in this deduction since I pay for it separately. I hope for a resolution, possibly through an appointment, to discuss this matter further. Regards, C. Levine

I couldn't e-file my taxes as TurboTax flagged a Social Security Number issue for one of my foster children. I mailed my return on 5/11/[redacted], realizing later that I forgot to sign it. Following advice from a tax professional, I sent a duplicate return with an explanation on 8/15/[redacted]. Despite regularly checking the IRS refund tracker, it says my information doesn't match. I'm expecting a $[redacted] refund, and I hope the IRS has my returns and is processing my refund.

I filed my taxes in March, and they were approved by the IRS on March 13th. I received a portion of the refund but haven't received the rest as of December 7th, [redacted]. I tried checking online and calling, but it doesn't provide any information about my tax status and hangs up on me. I'm still waiting for the remaining refund and would like to know when I can expect it and how to resolve this issue.

Last year, there was a significant error made by the IRS regarding my income, which has since been corrected with proof provided. However, my current Social Security payments are being reduced due to a high Medicare deduction, likely based on the incorrect income. This reduction seems to relate to Medicare Part B IRMAA. The Medicare Part D payments I make separately should not affect these deductions. I assume I need to address this with Medicare directly. I'm unsure where to seek resolution for these matters promptly.

I am concerned about the late filings and penalties I am facing regarding my PIT payments. I filed an extension until October [redacted] for the [redacted] taxes. Despite filing taxes with excess estimated in April [redacted] before the deadline, I later discovered I owed quarterly payments for [redacted]. Unfortunately, I missed all PIT deadlines except for December [redacted]. I made a significant excess payment for [redacted] taxes and requested it to be applied to the PIT payments, but I now understand that was not the correct procedure. I plan to pay all [redacted] PIT payments with the appropriate forms soon once I receive guidance. I would like to know how to determine the penalties incurred in this situation.

I recently received letter 5071C requesting identity verification. I attempted to complete it online but faced issues due to a lack of credit card, car loan, or home loan. I then tried calling the number provided ([redacted]), but the line was consistently busy, disconnecting each time. Despite my efforts over the weeks, I have been unable to reach anyone. The urgency of the letter's request is concerning, and I am seeking assistance in resolving this matter promptly.

I e-filed my federal income tax return last March using H&R Block. I received confirmation that the IRS received and accepted my return. However, in May, I received a 5071C letter requesting identity verification, which I suspect might be a scam. I tried to verify online but my credit card was not accepted. I've been trying to call the phone number provided, 1-[redacted], since then. Unfortunately, I keep getting a message stating they cannot take my call due to high volume and the specific topic I'm inquiring about. It's frustrating that I can't reach anyone to resolve this issue. When I contact the main number, the representatives seem unaware of the situation. I believe the IRS should have knowledgeable staff. I urgently need to resolve this but I keep getting redirected to what I assume are fraudulent call centers and websites. It's risky with so many fake sites on the internet.

I submitted my tax return nearly a year ago and have not yet received any of the stimulus payments that were mentioned on the return. Whenever I check online or inquire by phone, I am repeatedly informed that the payments are "being processed." I opted for direct deposit. I am seeking clarification on when I should expect to receive the first, second, and third stimulus payments. I cannot recall which bank account I designated for the deposit; it has been too long. Could someone please provide me with accurate details?

My husband and I have been patiently waiting for our amended tax return for over 20 weeks now. According to the IRS website, we should have received the return or a notice by mail by September 10th, but unfortunately, we have not received anything yet. We relocated while in the process of filing for the amended return, which makes me think the delay might be due to an incorrect address. I have already submitted a change of address form to the IRS, and I now just need them to resend the check.

Last year, I realized that the IRS had not cashed my check and sent late notices, leading me to pay online through officialpayments.com. I later requested a penalty reversal and asked for the payment to be applied to next year's taxes. The IRS then sent a letter stating the overpayment was refunded to me by check with interest, but I have not received it yet. The original overpayment sum was $[redacted], and as I do not know the exact amount of the check, I am unable to verify its status or report it missing using automated tools. I am in need of the re-issuance of this check, which should exceed $[redacted].

I am unable to access my IRS account as I lack the necessary identification like a card or passport. Being homeless makes it hard to authenticate my identity. I need to discuss my missing payment with someone as I am tired of the hurdles. The stimulus payment issue is frustrating me, and I urgently require assistance.

I received a letter instructing me to contact you to verify my ID, but I am unable to complete the process online due to a discrepancy between my last name on my social security card and my ID. My driver's license displays my previous married name from which I am now divorced, while my social security card shows my maiden name. I can provide proof of my divorce through the appropriate papers to authenticate my ID. Kindly reach out to discuss the steps required to verify my ID through your office. Thank you.

I have a considerable number of IBM stock shares acquired through the IBM Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) in the late 1980s and early 1990s. With IBM's recent spin-off of "Kyndryl," I aim to allocate the purchase basis of my IBM shares between "Kyndryl" and IBM based on the information provided on the Kyndryl website. My query lies in managing the "ordinary income" segment of the IBM ESPP shares. My plan involves recognizing the Maximum Ordinary Income for the [redacted] tax year, settling the tax liability now, despite not selling the shares immediately. I intend to adjust the basis upwards to accommodate the income element, and handle capital gains/losses when I eventually sell the stock. Is this approach permissible and compliant with legal regulations?

In August, I submitted an amended federal e-file. Upon amendment, it indicated that I was owed a refund. Recently, I received a letter stating that I still owe taxes, and it seems they may have taken my refund or stimulus, I'm unsure which one. I am attempting to reach someone to rectify this situation promptly so that I can receive the money I am owed. Additionally, I have already filed my amended state return and am patiently awaiting an update on my information and the issuance of a return from the State of California.

I submitted an amended tax return back in July and I haven't seen any updates online. Due to the current situation with COVID, I know there are delays, but it's frustrating not knowing if the IRS has received it. I sent the package with certified mail so they had to sign for it. I got confirmation that it was signed for in July. This process is taking longer than expected, especially considering it's an amended return and not a first-time filing. I would appreciate any assistance with this matter.

Good morning, I am reaching out because I have not received my [redacted] taxes yet. I have been trying to contact the office but have not been able to get through to anyone. Last week when I checked, it indicated that my taxes were being processed. However, now it is showing that the information provided is incorrect. After obtaining a copy of my transcript, I noticed that the information there is also incorrect. It appears that someone may have filed taxes using my name or social security number. This suspicion arose when I faced issues with the stimulus checks and only received them after speaking with a representative. As a precaution, I filed a police report earlier this year to investigate the possibility of identity theft. I would appreciate if someone could provide me with an update on the status of my taxes. Thank you.

I recently received a letter from the IRS, but I seem to have misplaced it. The letter mentioned verifying my identity, and I received it after submitting a simple tax return using the non-filers tool. Now, it's impacting my child tax credit as my account shows pending eligibility. I'm unsure how to proceed, especially since it stated I can't verify through online services. I would appreciate any guidance on resolving this issue.

Upon receiving my second stimulus check, I noticed that the amount allotted for my three sons was incorrect. I utilized the non-filers tool since I typically do not file taxes due to my annual income of only $14,[redacted]. I rely on SSI for support due to multiple disabilities and assistance from my local office. Any additional funds would be immensely helpful as I am struggling to cover my expenses. My water and sewage services are at risk of being disconnected on the 27th, and I am unable to provide my sons with a decent Christmas. I lack transportation because I cannot afford a car, and my driver's license is currently suspended. Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
