I have had custody of my two grandsons for 3.5 years. They were placed in my care due to serious safety concerns involving their parents. The 10-year-old was at risk, along with his mother and baby brother, due to issues of control and drug activity in their home. The 15-month-old was neglected, tied in his bassinet while the parents were absent for long periods. I do not receive any child support except for Food Stamps, which I am grateful for. I suspect the mother has claimed the child earned income credit on her taxes, which I believe I am entitled to. I am solely supporting these children on my disability benefits. Any assistance in resolving these matters would be greatly appreciated as we are struggling. Thank you for any help you can provide.

My fiance and I live together, and she doesn't work. We have a 4-year-old child from her previous marriage in North Carolina. Her ex-husband is listed on the birth certificate since they were married at the time of birth, even though he left the state without signing over parental rights to me. I financially support my daughter and her mother. However, after filing my taxes, I received a letter requesting additional documentation like Form [redacted]-H-EIC and the child tax credit form, which I only have partially. I am frustrated as I believe I have followed all the rules correctly in claiming them. The letter also mentions proof for an education credit, which I did not claim.

I have some inquiries regarding filing tax returns for previous years when I did not receive a W-2 form and my employer mentioned they couldn't resend it if it was already delivered. Additionally, I need guidance on filing as an independent contractor, and I'm curious about what the process of filing quarterly would entail if I choose to do so. It would be ideal to speak with someone who is willing to address multiple questions and is patient. I know it might be challenging to guarantee that, but I thought I'd mention it anyway!

I am extremely troubled by the information I received today regarding the IRS. An agent claimed that court decisions have no impact on the agency's pursuit of money and that the judge's orders can be disregarded. Despite a court ruling that my ex-spouse should pay 50% of the tax debts and that the home, in which he has no proven interest, could be seized, I find myself being pushed into a payment plan by the IRS to cover his debts. I abided by the court's directives, but now the IRS is compelling me to settle his obligations. The IRS's actions feel like theft, and they seem to believe they are exempt from U.S. laws and court rulings. I have proof of payment with dates and acknowledgment from the IRS, yet they insist on enforcing payments for my ex-husband's debts.

I am requesting to arrange a payment plan for my tax debt. I received a CP301 form but I find the IRS website instructions confusing and it’s difficult to speak with a live person for assistance. Due to losing my part-time marketing job last year, my income decreased significantly. I understand it is my responsibility. My proposed solution is to pay $[redacted] monthly through automatic drafts continuously to stay on top of the payment and avoid falling behind. This is the best I can manage currently, as we have been rebuilding our lives since losing our home in [redacted]. I am focused on increasing my income to reduce the debt. I eagerly await your guidance on how to initiate this payment plan. Thank you for your assistance. Best regards, G. Walters

Hello, I am currently paying monthly child support to another party in Florida while residing in Texas and preparing to file our tax refund. Recently, I realized that I have not been receiving my IRS refund for the last few years. Upon contacting the state of Florida's Child Support Agency, they informed me that my refund has not been directed to the other party through their channels. I am concerned that if my current wife and I file jointly, the refund check might be mistakenly sent to the other party, which should not be the case as I am up to date on my payments. I am not in arrears and have fulfilled my monthly child support obligations. I seek assistance in resolving this issue to ensure our refund check is not sent incorrectly. Thank you, -Gary J.

Yesterday, I received a message from the IRS stating that my federal return is under review starting on March 16th. Upon contacting a tax advocate today and then the Treasury, I was initially informed that my return was being held due to a debt to a federal agency I am certain I do not owe. However, the Treasury explained that it is related to a state revenue issue amounting to around $[redacted] to be deducted from my refund. Additionally, the state revenue agency confirmed the debt and mentioned that the IRS has not yet approved my return. I have consistently filed my taxes the same way for 13 years, claiming my daughter, and I urgently need my refund. It is frustrating that this delay is happening during a tough year, especially as I have been out of work since November due to health issues. I am desperate to settle bills and stabilize my finances until I can return to work. The government's decision to withhold my $5,[redacted] tax return feels unjust, especially considering my circumstances. It is disheartening to be facing financial challenges and bureaucratic obstacles simultaneously.

When I went to file my [redacted] taxes, I brought my [redacted] papers thinking they were previously filed by a friend's mom who asked me to send them to Michigan for processing. After a call from the IRS in September, I realized something was amiss. I received amended forms and sought help at H&R Block. They advised me to investigate if the documents were sent to the IRS and resolve the issue. Being new to this process, I am still confused and eager to understand what happened with my [redacted] taxes. I was promised assistance, but it never materialized.

I submitted my tax return on 1/16, and the IRS accepted it on 1/27. I used TurboTax for my taxes. When I check my refund status on the IRS website, it indicates that I might have entered incorrect information. I then tried the IRS2Go app, but it also states that my details do not match, even though I verified everything multiple times. It has been more than 21 days, and I am eager to know the status of my return or understand the reason for the delay.

I was employed at Bargain Hunt in Columbia, TN from January to the last week in May [redacted]. I have been attempting to obtain my W-2 forms since the second week of February, but Bargain Hunt has not sent them to me yet. Can you assist me in obtaining a copy of my W-2s? My name is Kathy Metcalf, and I reside at [redacted] Caspian Drive. My driver's license still displays my previous address in Lynnwood. The last four digits of my social security number are [redacted]. Could you please help me with this issue, or should I proceed with filing without it?

My husband and I are filing jointly. I do not work, and only my husband does. We have lived outside the USA (in Qatar) for more than 12 consecutive months. Our tax preparer, who is currently working on our [redacted] income tax return, informed us that we are eligible for the foreign earned income tax exclusion under the physical presence test. He subtracted $[redacted],[redacted] from my husband's total wages to arrive at an adjusted gross income of $22,[redacted]. He then entered $24,[redacted] for the standard deduction in line 8 of Form [redacted] ([redacted]), resulting in an amount owed of zero dollars (line 22 on Form [redacted]). I would like to know if he can combine the foreign earned income exclusion and standard deduction as he did.

I am trying to figure out who claimed me and my children on their taxes. I suspect the father of my children claimed them despite my request for him not to. I informed H&R Block that he should not claim them, but I think he did and received his tax refund without discussing it with me. We only lived together for four months this year, spending most of the time in a shelter. I took care of my children myself during this time. I would like to confirm if he is indeed the one who claimed me and my children.

I am checking the refund status online, and it still shows that my taxes are being processed without a direct deposit date. Both federal and state taxes were filed and accepted on February 18, [redacted]. Is there any additional information needed from me for verification purposes? We are going through a difficult time and urgently need the refund. We have received shut-off notices for all our utility bills and are at risk of eviction. We have three children and are really hoping to receive the refund promptly.

I have been informed that when I was 10 years old, records show I owned a house in L.A. Without my knowledge, my mother never had the means to make such purchases in my name. There have been instances of fraudulent activities, such as someone using my social security number at 9 months old. I am facing challenges with my taxes and have not received refunds. Obtaining my birth certificate has been difficult due to financial constraints. I wish to speak with a representative in person and request copies of all my W-2 forms to address these issues.

My employer failed to report my income and taxes to the IRS, causing my tax refund to be delayed. I contacted a tax care advocate named Darlene Roland, who requested my last paystub for the case. However, despite sending the information, I have not received any updates on my refund status for over a month. As a single mother facing financial hardship and at risk of losing my home, I urgently need assistance. I have been struggling to reach the IRS for hours on end to resolve the issue. I am in desperate need of an update or any form of communication to provide some relief and guidance on next steps. It is crucial that this situation is resolved promptly to avoid further consequences for myself and my young children.

I am seeking advice regarding a situation where someone fraudulently claimed one of my dependents on my tax return. This dependent came into my care after her mother passed away on 11/9/18, and we legally adopted her. Upon having my return rejected electronically, I visited my local H&R Block office where they advised me to fax my documents for a quicker resolution. I would like to verify if my faxed forms have been received and the correct fax number to ensure my information reaches the IRS promptly. Additionally, I am unsure about mailing my tax forms, particularly concerning my state return that is currently on hold due to the federal rejection. I was informed that once my federal return is accepted, my state return will automatically process. Seeking clarity on these matters as the fax number provided by the H&R Block staff was obtained through a Google search, which leaves me uncertain about its accuracy.

My [redacted] Federal taxes were still pending with the IRS. I submitted them on 2-4-[redacted] and only inquired after 38 days on 3-9-20. The IRS agent I spoke with was very rude, stating my return was under further review without specifying why. When asked about the review process, she claimed ignorance and provided no assistance. Despite setting up an online IRS account, I discovered that the review letter had not even been sent until more than a week later. I received no resolution or professionalism from the IRS, only frustration. It seems unlikely the Federal Government will be helpful during the current virus outbreak.

I have custody of my three grandchildren. When I filed my taxes in February, I included the children since they were with me for 8 months. However, my return was rejected because someone named Namon Oliver claimed two of the children. I have been informed that he has been doing this for three years. It seems that their information must have been stolen, and he is using it. These children have never lived with this person. Their Social Security numbers are as follows: Rhyleigh Allen last four***/**/[redacted] Ryann Hamilton Cannon ***/**/[redacted] I removed them from my return and was able to receive payment. However, this person is fraudulently claiming these children. He is not entitled to any funds for them, not even for the past three years. I request an investigation into this matter and appropriate action to be taken.

I filed my federal taxes on Feb 18th, expecting a refund of a little over 5k as head of my household with an 11-year-old son and a fiancé. I used H&R Block online with my W2 and Form 1040R, opting for direct deposit. Initially, I was told the refund would be available on March 10th, but it's been stuck on "processing" since. Despite contacting H&R Block, visiting their office, and calling the IRS multiple times, I have no resolution. I received transcripts I ordered but no indication of an issue. I made an IRS account, activated it, but received no notice of any problem. Having been laid off due to COVID-19, struggling with unemployment, and facing overdue bills and expenses, I'm desperate for the refund. Despite assurances of IRS help in the news, I feel left behind. If anyone can guide me on how to proceed, I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you.
