Dear Sir or Madam, I have a query regarding the need to file a US tax return due to conflicting advice from various sources. I am a UK citizen and tax resident, not a US resident, citizen, or green card holder, with no business activities in the US. I own Pfizer Inc. shares managed by Computershare Limited in the US. The dividends are reinvested, and I received a Form [redacted]-S showing $[redacted] gross income with $74 (15%) US tax paid in [redacted] under income code '06'. Based on advice received, it seems the 15% withholding tax on US dividends exempts me from filing a US tax return. As a UK tax resident, the UK-USA double tax agreement warrants a 15% withholding tax, which aligns with the tax withheld. Could you please confirm if I am exempt from filing a US tax return? Do I need to take any action with the [redacted]-S form or forward it to anyone? Thank you, Jeremy H. Cambridge, UK

I reside in West Virginia and am filing as single. I work as a nanny and was employed from October 9, [redacted], to December 31, [redacted]. I did not have taxes withheld, but I received a [redacted] and had Social Security and Medicare deducted. I used H&R Block's online W-2 form and indicated no tax deductions, resulting in an estimated federal refund of $[redacted] and no state refund. 1. Is this calculation accurate? If not, how can I rectify it? 2. Can I claim fuel receipts next year for additional tax returns? 3. How can I determine the correct amount of withholding for this year? Could you provide a resource explaining this process? Thank you for your assistance. This is a new experience for me, and I appreciate your help and understanding. 🤗

I am inquiring about the eligibility of deducting repair and maintenance costs for Community property in [redacted] listed on Line 10, as well as the Community dock license expenses on Line 12 of Form [redacted]-H. We received $[redacted] in interest income from previous dues for Capital repairs and maintenance, reported on Line 2 from Form [redacted]-INT for the year [redacted]. These deductions could potentially surpass the interest income, leading to significant savings of around $[redacted] (30% x ([redacted]-[redacted])).

This is my son's first year working, and he filed his taxes as a full-time college student living at home and working part-time. While filing, we forgot to indicate if someone else can claim him as a dependent. His efile went through but mine was rejected because I also claimed him due to paying his tuition. He is 20 years old - can I still claim him, or should I amend his return and include the tuition? Removing him from my claim might result in me owing federal taxes.

I believe my ex-partner filed our taxes jointly without my consent after we broke up and falsely claimed we were in a common law marriage. I suspect he may be stalking me in Arkansas, where I now live, and has been involved in illegal activities like generating false reports against me. This situation involves racketeering, including my ex-employer misusing my identity for fraudulent activities. Laura J Michel.

Hello, I am Sindhura. I have not yet received my [redacted] W-2 form from my previous employer. Despite multiple attempts to contact them via email and phone calls, they have not responded. Interestingly, when I call from a different number, they answer but hang up once they realize it's me. I urgently need the W-2 to file my taxes and would appreciate your assistance in both tax filing and obtaining the necessary form from my ex-employer.

I need assistance filing back taxes for the years 2[redacted]. I am looking for help obtaining replacement [redacted] forms from my employer and the ones I issued to my employees. Due to a home burglary, my records were stolen along with other belongings. I have previously filed as married filing jointly with my husband as the head of the household. Any guidance to the appropriate person would be highly valued. Thank you, T. W. [redacted].

I recently realized an error in my tax filing status from [redacted] onwards. I used Turbotax for my filings, and upon reviewing the tax summaries, I noticed that it was marked as single instead of MFS. I believe this may have been a mistake on my part, as I intended to file as MFS due to being separated from my spouse for almost 4 years. I would like to rectify this error and amend my filing status to MFS.

I submitted an amended return for [redacted] in [redacted]. The IRS requested additional information which my accountant promptly provided. Despite this, I received a letter from the IRS claiming the original information was not submitted on time, which it was. My accountant insists he has sent three letters and made multiple calls to resolve the issue. I am owed over $[redacted] from the IRS, and the matter remains unresolved. I feel frustrated that my accountant may have mishandled this and fear I may never receive the money I am owed. It has been challenging to reach a live person for assistance in resolving this matter.

I am currently facing an issue obtaining my W-2 from my employer. They processed our payroll through Intuit, but there was an error with my address causing the document to be sent to the wrong location. Despite reaching out to both Intuit and my employer, I have not been able to rectify this situation. Intuit mentioned that the W-2s were already printed and on the way. Although I tried to update my address a week prior, it was too late. I was advised to contact the Post Office, but they informed me that incorrect addresses could result in the document being returned to the sender. I am considering using a photo I have of my wages and deductions as a substitute for the W-2. The image displays the company name, my name, and my address. Can I use this as proof of income in place of the W-2 form?

Last year's tax return for [redacted] was rejected due to a missing identification pin. As a result, this year when I filed my [redacted] tax return, I encountered the same issue. I was unable to obtain the pin because I was on a month-long training rotation. Additionally, attempts to apply for the pin on the IRS website were unsuccessful. I'm preparing to deploy to Korea this weekend, and I'm concerned about the situation and the potential consequences of not resolving this issue.

I have a disabled friend who relies on her widowed annuity from Prudential Insurance, shown on a 1099R form. Despite attempting to file for free through Tax Act, there ended up being a charge. I believe I could assist by obtaining an EZ form and completing it for her. I tried another supposedly "free" filing service, but they also requested payment. Why do they advertise as free only to charge at the end? One company mentioned her age as a reason for the fee since she is over 56. Her refund is just $[redacted]; do individuals with sole income from a 1099R have to pay for filing?

I submitted my taxes on January 31, [redacted], via E-file for direct deposit into my bank account. Despite my friend who filed a day before me already receiving his refund within 5 days of acceptance on TurboTax, I am still waiting for mine. The tracking information on the app consistently shows that my refund is still being processed and hasn't been approved, even though TurboTax confirmed its acceptance.

I have encountered a problem at H&R Block while filing my taxes for this year. I have three children, and they mistakenly filed me as single instead of head of household. Normally, I always file as head of household. When I contacted them about this issue, they gave me an excuse that filing as head of household would raise flags with the IRS. I am confused and would appreciate speaking with a representative to address this matter.

Dear Sir or Madam, My name is Paula E.R. Massicott. I was married to Mitchel M. Massicott on December 3, [redacted], and we lived together. He handled all our income tax matters. Mitchel passed away on December 23, [redacted], and after his death, I learned from the Labor District Council that I am entitled to his pension upon submission of the Death Certificate and necessary paperwork. I need to obtain a copy of the Death Certificate for this purpose. However, I am facing a challenge as I do not have his social security number or his card. My late husband managed all financial aspects, including household bills and tax filings. I seek guidance on how to proceed to obtain his social security number for the Death Certificate application. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you sincerely, Mrs. Paula E.R. Massicott

I am trying to claim my son, whom I have claimed every year since he was born. This year, his mother claimed him without my knowledge, even though she only worked for 2-3 months. I have a longer work history, and now I am unable to claim my son. Is it possible to report her to the IRS for my son only? We have two children together, and she has another child from another relationship whom she claimed all three this year. What can I do? I have listed my first-born, Aaron D. Jr., as my dependent on every W-4 form I have had. He lived with both of us until January [redacted].

Form [redacted] Query: I recently exceeded the annual gift limit with a cash gift to my daughter. In the form, I'm uncertain if I should complete Schedule A-Part 1 for this gift. Additionally, for Schedule A-Part 4, I understand this is where the total gifted amount goes, with the taxable gift calculated as the difference between the total gifts and the $15,[redacted] annual exclusion. Regarding Schedule B, should I include previous year's gifts that were below the exclusion limit? Lastly, do I need to file Form [redacted] for future years when giving cash gifts within the exclusion limit?

I have submitted a detailed letter to the IRS outlining my urgent situation. I am Rachel Waine Tate. Here are the key points I'm concerned about and hope you can reference the letter for more information. I desperately require my tax refund to be expedited because: - I am facing eviction by March 1st, [redacted]. - As a single mother of two young children, things are very challenging. - My lack of transportation and dwindling job prospects add to the crisis. - We are currently without phone, cable, and internet services. - Providing basic necessities like clothes and shoes for my kids is a struggle. - My laptop is the most valuable possession I have as an online college student at Liberty University, working towards my degree. - Despite exhausting all available financial options, my situation remains dire. I sincerely hope for your assistance after reviewing my letter in detail.

Hello, I used Credit Karma to file my taxes. I made deposits for both state and federal taxes. Recently, I discovered that I made a mistake in the last number for the federal and state deposits. I'm unsure how this error happened as the routing number and other details are accurate. The funds are available, but I'm currently abroad, so calling and waiting on hold for over 40 minutes would be expensive.

On March 9, [redacted], I suffered a massive stroke and was subsequently let go from my job at AT&T. Although I received only a third of my expected retirement, I plan to address this matter in court. The main concern now is that after the IRS deducted $25,[redacted] in taxes, I received a $[redacted],[redacted] check. Upon attempting to file my taxes, I learned that there might be penalties for this payment. I rely on a $[redacted] monthly Social Security income and used the money to settle outstanding bills. I need an exemption form from you to avoid a $35,[redacted] tax penalty as I cannot afford it. Could you please send me the form via email or mail?
