I visited the Union, NJ store on 7/26/18 and while bagging my items at the self service area, the clerk accused me of not scanning my items. I explained where I placed my scanner, which is in the designated rack for scanners when not in use. I have experienced multiple audits over the last three years, even though I always pay for my purchases. It has become so frequent that I now request every item to be audited when it happens. Despite never failing an audit, I feel unfairly targeted and profiled. I have raised this concern to store managers and corporate executives without any resolution. I believe the practices at this store are unjust and I am determined to bring attention to this issue by reaching out to relevant organizations. I have noticed the lack of audits for other customers in comparison to the frequency with which I am audited. This situation needs to change.

As an employee at Stop and Shop store [redacted] in Carle Place, NY, I have an injury on my hand and require physical therapy. Despite the therapist's recommendation to wear a splint during work, I am being denied accommodation by my front end supervisor Sandra. I have provided doctor's notes, but she refuses to adjust my duties. I have asked for specific tasks at the register, but she assigned me to throwbacks instead of accommodating my injury. When I tried to discuss this with her, she ignored me and avoided the conversation by keeping herself busy elsewhere. On a previous occasion, during Labor Day, I requested assistance due to the workload, but Sandra did not provide the support she promised, leaving me to struggle throughout my shift. Her lack of assistance has been a common issue among other associates on the front end, and I feel targeted and harassed by her actions.

On November 15th, at 6:45 p.m., I visited Store [redacted] on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. My experience was extremely unsatisfactory. I took a turkey to self-checkout and had trouble scanning it. Despite being told by the security guard that the sales associate nearby would assist me, the associate and two others with blinking checkout lights ignored me. The sales associate, who was chatting with a non-employee, finally came over after a delay, seemed disinterested, and made me move the turkey to a different register to check out. He skipped signing me up for a Stop & Shop card and just applied a sale price to the turkey. After the transaction, he handed me my change and left me to bag the 15-pound turkey on my own. This experience at Stop & Shop was absurd, frustrating, and lacked professionalism. I would not recommend this store and have doubts about returning. Training and professionalism among your employees need serious attention.

I have been a loyal shopper at Stop and Shop since the opening of the East Islip location many years ago. After moving to Ridge, L.I., I now frequent the newer and pleasant Rocky Point store. However, as a disabled individual who struggles with long periods of standing, I find purchasing cold cuts to be challenging due to the wait. I have kindly requested the manager on multiple occasions to consider placing a bench near the cold cut counter to accommodate elderly and disabled customers, but my requests have gone unanswered thus far.
If it's possible to have a bench added to the cold cut area, it would be incredibly helpful. I reside in an over 55 community with [redacted] residents, along with nearby developments such as Leisure Village, Leisure Knoll, and Leisure Glenn, totaling [redacted] houses each. Your assistance in addressing this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Sincerely,
Palma P.

I have been shopping at StopnShop for over 4 years. I've noticed the prices increasing over time but couldn't believe the recent hike in the Nestle's half and half. This product, which I've enjoyed for years, has increased twice in just 2 weeks from $6.24 to a shocking $6.99. As a senior on a fixed income, this price jump is unmanageable for me. I initially accepted a $0.25 increase but when it went up again the following week, I was taken aback. Are you filling the container with gold? What justifies this price surge? It's truly disappointing. Sadly, I will have to stop purchasing this product after being a loyal customer for so long. I am extremely upset with StopnShop over this and hope others share my frustration in my apartment building.

Dear Management,
I wanted to share my recent experience at your store. On Friday evening, around 5 p.m., I noticed the long checkout lines due to limited cashiers available. The quick checkout that I found closed added to the wait time. Customers, including myself, were disheartened by the long waits and lack of interaction with cashiers now responsible for bagging. As a loyal customer for over fifteen years spending about $[redacted] a month, I've observed an increase in prices without a corresponding improvement in service. I suggest considering additional staff during busy hours, maintaining reasonable prices, and ensuring a more efficient checkout process to retain loyal customers like me who value friendly service. If improvements are not made in the next three months, I may need to explore other stores for better convenience and value. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Your customer, A.

I am customer 22******[redacted]. I had an issue with coupon [redacted] at store [redacted] on Sat. 3/9/19 at 11:06 am. I spent $73.35 and was told I needed to buy 2 items for the coupon to apply. The cashier made incorrect statements, and the coupon was not honored. I ended up paying more than I should have, feeling embarrassed and frustrated. As a senior on a fixed income, I should not have been overcharged. I still have the coupon and would appreciate a refund for the overcharge. Thank you.

I am dismayed by the presence of American Globs Big Gay Ice Cream in your store. I believe all ice cream brands should be neutral, as there is no Straight Ice Cream either. What concerns me most is that this product is colorful and appealing to kids. Parents shouldn't have to explain sexual orientation in the ice cream aisle. It would make more sense for adult-oriented stores like Spencer's to carry it, not a family-friendly place like Stop & Shop. The decision to sell this item is troubling considering the setting of a grocery store.

I ordered a cake for my daughter's first birthday last week. Although we picked it up this morning, I am extremely disappointed with how it turned out. The cake is slanted on one side, unevenly frosted, and the picture on it is wrinkled and clearly looks rushed. Paying $42 for a cake that lacks effort is unreasonable in my opinion. While I have always had great experiences buying cakes from Stop and Shop in the past, this recent incident has left me dissatisfied. Furthermore, dealing with the striking employees who were being unpleasant to customers trying to enter the store only added to the negative experience. Next time, I will consider going to Shaw's instead.

I wanted to express my deep disappointment in how your employees are treated. My reward ID is 22 [redacted] 9, and I have been a loyal customer for over 25 years, spending an average of $[redacted] weekly. I choose your store over others despite higher prices because of the outstanding customer service at the Franklin, Mass location. As an HR representative, I recognize good customer service, and the staff at this store excel in it. Even though the manager is less engaged, the employees show genuine care and interest by asking about my life and interests. They even helped me navigate the new robot in the store, Marty. One time, the butcher accommodated a last-minute order for a prime rib roast, showing exceptional service. I prefer not to use self-checkout because I value interacting with the cashier. I simply urge you to prioritize the human connection in your service and support your team. They are the heart of your success and the reason I continue to choose Stop and Shop. Sincerely, Lydie Dickinson.

I recently purchased a Febreze plug-in air freshener, and unfortunately, the bottle in the package was broken. As I arrived home and placed my groceries on my table to unpack, I noticed that the bag was covered in liquid, which leaked onto my placemat and damaged the varnish on my two-year-old table. Additionally, I sustained a mild cut on my finger. I would appreciate more than just a product return in this situation. I suspect the product was damaged by the careless bagger who showed no regard for my items during bagging. Despite having my own bags in my cart, he opted for plastic bags without my consent. I would like some form of compensation for these inconveniences. I have pictures available upon request and hope to receive a response within 48 hours.

During my recent visit to Stop & Shop in Miller Place, NY, I encountered a situation at lane 7 with a young cashier who appeared lazy and rude. Despite being a regular customer who frequents the store often for both shopping and pharmacy services, the cashier's lack of willingness to assist with scanning larger items in my cart was disappointing. Upon informing her about the items at the bottom of my cart, her response requesting me to bring them to her instead of aiding with the process across the register was unprofessional. This experience was unlike the positive interactions I have had with other employees and pharmacy staff at this location. It was disheartening to encounter such poor customer service exhibited by this particular cashier.

At the end of June [redacted], I rushed to the neighborhood Stop and Shop on Rte [redacted] and Golding Ave in West Babylon, NY, around 6:30-7pm to quickly grab a few items before picking up my son. I used the scan gun and headed to self-checkout. After putting three $20 bills into the machine, it suddenly needed assistance and shut down. The store manager approached, and in the midst of resolving the issue, I noticed the security guard recording me without permission, adding to my frustration. Despite the machine malfunctioning, Erma, an employee, insisted on rescanning my items. Feeling stressed about picking up my son, I decided to pay the remaining balance without receiving my change. As I left, the security guard forcibly grabbed my shoulder, causing a scene in the rain. Refusing to comply, I headed to my car, only to be confronted again by the security guard falsely accusing me of shoplifting. The situation escalated with the police being called, causing unnecessary distress. Ultimately, it was revealed that the security guard had misconstrued the situation, highlighting the mishandling of the incident and the violation of my rights.

On July 3, [redacted], I placed an order for 70 pieces of fried chicken and 30 pieces of fried fish for a party on July 4th. Upon picking up my order at 2pm, I found that the fish was overcooked, hard, dry, and inedible. Unfortunately, I had to discard 28 out of the 30 pieces of fish.
The purchase was made at the Franklin Ave. location in Franklin Square, NY. The fish cost $28.00 plus Nassau County NY taxes. As a loyal customer of this location for 20 years, I am disappointed by this experience.
My name is J. H. and I am requesting a refund for the subpar fish. I can be reached at [redacted] or [redacted] The order number or barcode is [redacted][redacted]. I look forward to a resolution to this matter.

I worked at Stop And Shop for almost 5 years but decided to leave due to poor management and co-worker favoritism. There were instances of inappropriate behavior with drinking and receiving money from managers. Names like Ray Young, David Tisdale, and Jessica White were involved in questionable activities. I'm concerned about managers and supervisors meddling in ex-employees' affairs after they've left. It's unsettling that details of my meeting with David Tisdale and Jessica White were spread around the store. Sharing personal information without consent is unacceptable.

This morning, I experienced a troubling incident at the Stop and Shop store on 95 N Bedford Street in Mount Kisco, NY. I was accused of not paying for my $5.00 purchase at the self-pay cashier machines. Despite following the machine's instructions, the paper money I inserted was not registered, leading to accusations from the clerk. Even after requesting a manager, it took multiple employees to finally confirm that I had indeed paid. The encounter left me feeling discriminated against and embarrassed, as if I were being treated like a thief. I believe that better training in customer service is necessary for Stop and Shop employees to avoid similar situations in the future. As a result of this experience, I have decided not to shop at Stop and Shop again and will be exploring other shopping options.

I previously worked at Stop and Shop store #[redacted], where I resigned with a 2 weeks' notice. I wish to return and followed the correct protocol by reapplying online. However, upon contacting the store manager, Brian, he rudely claimed I quit. I explained that I resigned properly and am eligible for rehire, but he dismissively mentioned they had just hired 7 new employees and didn't want me back. This was surprising, as I had a good relationship with my colleagues and supervisors during my 3-year tenure. I am seeking assistance in resolving this issue. - Cliff K. [redacted]

I want to report a disturbing incident involving Ron Underwood. He sexually assaulted me and tried to coerce me into sleeping with him by offering a discount. When his friends discovered this, they not only threatened me but also mentioned my children. I find this behavior highly inappropriate and I am taking this matter seriously. My children are aged 23, 20, and 12, and it is unacceptable to threaten harm to a 12-year-old. Ron's actions of sexual harassment are unacceptable. If your company employs individuals like him, I will warn others to avoid your store. I will be seeking legal advice and will have my lawyer reach out to corporate regarding this issue.

Hello-
I am disappointed with the experience at the Woburn location. I bought 2 bags of Doritos and Ruffles chips for $1.99 each on sale on Saturday, 11/2. However, when the items rang up at a higher price, I returned to address the issue, but customer service was closed due to the late hour. The next day, two female customer service agents were unhelpful and rude, denying me a refund for the Doritos due to a size discrepancy. Despite showing them the signs still up in the aisle with the correct pricing, I was met with laughter and unprofessional behavior. I left feeling frustrated and wasted time and gas due to the incorrect pricing at the store. I have pictures of the signs and receipt for reference.

Hello, I purchased 2 soup bowls, a Clorox product, and a pack of fruit bites, which were the freebie of the week. I had 2 coupons for the free bowls priced at $5.99 each. However, I noticed they were on sale for $3.99. Despite this, the cashier still deducted $5.99 for each bowl, resulting in a negative total. I understand the store policy does not issue cash back, so technically I shouldn't owe anything, but the cashier insisted I pay the -$2.51 balance. I suggested getting another item to adjust the total, but the cashier declined. I would appreciate resolving this by allowing me to select an item of similar value to avoid a negative balance at checkout.
