Dear Support Team,
I submitted a refund request yesterday for the Train Sim World game I purchased under the account name saipradeep7. I realized I omitted crucial information from my initial request. Upon opening the game, I encountered a freezing issue that required a system reboot, causing the playtime to inaccurately show as 4 hours. Unfortunately, the game also became unresponsive during my second attempt, forcing another system reboot. The actual play time was less than 1 hour due to these technical difficulties. I hope this additional information will assist in processing my refund promptly. I intend to utilize the refunded amount to purchase a different game on Steam. Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
S.

On June 29th, a close friend bought me the discounted game Dead by Daylight for $9.99, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Playing with my online friends was a highlight, as it became my go-to game. To my dismay on July 17th, returning home excited to play, I discovered it had been refunded due to a payment issue with my friend's credit card. With over [redacted] hours invested and two DLCs, this news was devastating. I inquired if others who received the gift experienced the same, but strangely, I was the sole recipient affected. I seek clarity on this sudden refund, especially considering Steam's refund policies. Thank you.

Recently, someone with the username Joh-3 claiming to be from Steam support contacted me during a game session. They accused me of engaging in illegal trades and threatened to V.A.C ban my account if I didn't comply with their demands. My account name was changed to "suspect" and featured a V.A.C image as a profile picture. Despite attempting to change my account back, the changes were reversed. I even changed my password, but the person still gained access. Admittingly, a few days ago, a friend sent me a link promising a free skin, which I logged into using my Steam credentials. I suspect this may be the cause of my current situation. I am grateful for any assistance in resolving this issue so I can return to enjoying my gaming experience.

In Brazil, the local law allows consumers to request a refund within 7 days of a purchase. Despite using the product for 3.5 hours, Steam is denying my refund claim. I believe a company cannot go against the laws of my country. I urge Steam to refund my money; otherwise, I will seek legal action. I have shared the law (Lei [redacted]/90) for reference. Thank you, GetHuman team.

I recently purchased three $50 cards from a Walgreens store. Unfortunately, when I scratched off the back, the sticker with the codes came off on two of the cards, rendering them unreadable. One card had a readable code. I intended these cards for a friend in the army, but now I have two unusable $50 cards. Is there a way to receive a refund or replacement cards with valid codes? I am willing to provide pictures as proof that the codes are unreadable and the cards are unused. I can be contacted at [redacted]. If possible, I would like to exchange the two faulty cards for replacement cards with working codes. My address is [redacted] Dunmore Place, Hoffman Estates, Illinois [redacted]. Please advise me on how to proceed, whether through email at [redacted] or via text message. I appreciate any assistance, as I now have $[redacted] worth of unusable cards.

My Steam account was hacked, and the hacker took my valuable items amounting to at least INR 20,[redacted]. My Steam gaming ID is "AssassinX" with a profile picture of a child. While playing CSGO today, my Steam name abruptly changed to "VAC BANNED" with my profile picture altered to a large "VAC" logo. Subsequently, I received a message from a user ID named "Community Manager #[redacted]" stating that my account would be banned within an hour, resulting in the permanent removal of all my inventories unless I traded them to a trusted contact beforehand. Out of panic, I traded the items to my cousin. However, after the trade, I realized, along with my cousin, that he did not receive the items and they seemed to have vanished entirely. I am seeking assistance from Steam regarding this issue. Please help me retrieve my belongings and address the fraudulent activity. Kindly respond to this message if it reaches you.

I encountered a hacker while playing Counter Strike Global Offensive, and after an altercation, I found myself locked out of my account the next day with a changed password and malfunctioning Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator. Despite numerous attempts, I'm unable to access my account as the associated phone number has changed. I've been trying for the past [redacted] days without success. I still have access to the email linked to the account, but without the correct phone number or Steam Guard, I'm stuck. Please assist me; this is my final attempt to regain access to my account.

During my vacation, my account got stolen. The email associated with it was changed, and the phone number was removed. I have purchase records from PayPal to Steam and can share screenshots via email. The username was xchad123123, and the display name was xchadd. The suspected email is [redacted], an old secure email. My Steam account wasn't highly ranked, but I still wish to recover it. I had money in the Steam wallet from selling Rust skins, approximately $15, but the exact amount is unclear. Getting the account back is my priority, not the money.

Hello, I am a Steam user with the username "ItsTheWhaleKiller!".
I have a game, "Garry's Mod," that was gifted to me by my sister's account, "Luonish." I would like to play this game with a friend, but I am unable to add friends without paying $5, which I cannot afford as I am underage and need my mom's permission to spend money on games. Is there any way to add friends without paying the fee? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for understanding that I used an alternate email due to my primary email being cluttered.
Best regards.

My son fell victim to a deceptive trader who he was hesitant to deal with due to lack of experience. This individual orchestrated a scheme involving multiple accounts to unjustly get my son's account banned. I was by his side during this distressing incident. Following advice, he tried to transfer his items to a friend, but a company bot interfered with the transfer, impersonating his account and causing further harm. Despite reaching out to Steam for help, we have not received a response. My son has been undergoing leukemia tests at the hospital this week, and this upsetting ordeal has added to his distress. I kindly request that his account be reinstated to its original status and his belongings be restored.

I bought a $[redacted] card from Game Stop at Chandler, AZ Fashion Mall. They activated it, and I used it the same day. When I tried to use it again that night, it said "Invalid." Game Stop wouldn't refund or replace it, claiming it had already been used. I was advised to contact Steam for a new access number due to potential hacking. Since Steam lacks phone support, I've left multiple voicemails and submitted an online ticket. They keep sending emails asking if it's fixed, despite my explaining the issue persists. I'm frustrated as this incident cost me $[redacted] and time. Kindly send a new access code to replace access code RV5BI-RJ80V-0WACZ, Ref number [redacted]61. Please email it to [redacted] Thank you, Vince.

I attempted to request a refund for Astroneer after 3 hours, acknowledging it was beyond the automatic refund time frame. Despite this, the request was rejected with what seems like an automated response. The issue arose from attempting to play multiplayer with a friend on a shared world. After playing for 2 hours and trying to reconnect the next day, we encountered difficulties. Although we managed to connect on a new world, we were unable to do so again on the previous one. As the sole purpose for purchasing the game was multiplayer functionality and this issue prevents me from continuing saved games, I am seeking a refund, as multiplayer capabilities are essential for my enjoyment.

I recently fell victim to a scam on Steam involving someone named Kimmy from cs.money who used an alternate account named 〄Anxiety✫ to carry out the scam. Unfortunately, I am unable to retrieve the messages I sent this person for evidence since they have blocked me. Is there any possibility of recovering my lost items, or should I consider it a lost cause, with over $[redacted] spent on purchasing skins? - Z.W.

Recently, my 10-year-old son was contacted by someone claiming to be an admin who was demanding he hand over his items for checking or face having his account deleted. Witnessing him upset, I intervened and requested proof of their admin status before complying. Despite my requests, they continued to threaten deletion, even altering my son's username. When I requested evidence again, the individual became aggressive and continued harassing my son. To protect him, I advised him to log out while I seek assistance from higher authorities. Whether this is a scam or an admin, their behavior towards a child is unacceptable. I am concerned about how they obtained access to my son's account. For further assistance, please reach me at my email or [redacted]. Thank you for your attention to this matter. My son's username is "fijitlogan." ~Amber

I have recently been overspending without realizing some transactions were being charged to my credit card. Currently, my credit card balance is negative, and I have almost an equivalent amount in my Steam account. I would like to request a transfer of funds from my Steam account back to my card to rectify the negative balance. It would relieve me of worry and make it easier for me to manage. I also noticed that contacting Steam support directly is not straightforward for more complex issues. Establishing a more direct and accessible way to reach Steam support for such matters would greatly enhance customer satisfaction post-assistance, eliminating the need to navigate through a third-party system to submit help requests. Thank you for your help and attention to this matter.

I bought the Shadowbringers DLC for Final Fantasy XIV on the Steam Store on July 19. Two days ago, I realized that the DLC hadn't been activated on my account. When I tried, the code was invalid. Square Enix's customer support explained that I didn't have the "Steam version" of the game, making the DLC incompatible. I haven't been able to play the DLC; it was never registered.
I tried to request a refund but it said I played too many hours for eligibility. However, I haven't played any of the content. I want a refund for the unused Shadowbringers Standard Edition Content.

I recently changed my mobile phone and now have a new number. Although I can log in with my username and password, I can't access my account because it requires an authorization code linked to my old number. The recovery code I saved doesn't work, and asking to use the app on my new device still refers to the old number. It's frustrating that there's no option to update the phone number. Despite having my login credentials, I'm unable to access my account.

I was informed that I had been reported in Team Fortress 2. Following assurances that it was a mistake, I was guided to contact someone to prevent my account from facing a ban or deletion. Upon reaching out, I was directed to a link. After clicking, I was asked to pay $[redacted] to generate a new payment ID for Steam. Subsequently, I was prompted to empty my card, which alerted me to the fraudulent nature of the situation. My son and I fell victim to a scam. My son, who is autistic, was manipulated into believing he had a hacker on his account named PWANDA tradeit.gg. The scammer, Sl99py, claimed it was accidental and involved another person, Mr. Envision, who said he could help. They threatened an impending ban to activate in 10 hours, causing my son distress. Despite my lack of tech knowledge, I questioned Mr. Envision's legitimacy before being coerced into paying $30 for a supposed ban removal. After multiple requests for more money, my son felt immense pressure and distress, leading to my regrettable payment. The scam progressed, demanding more funds and personal information, all while my son was experiencing a meltdown. Feeling overwhelmed, I paid without receiving satisfactory answers. The scammers are associated with my son's Terraria game, using various usernames. I believe we have been robbed, and I urge your fraud department to take action against this deceitful operation targeting children's games. My son remains upset, and I hope for a resolution to prevent this from happening to others. Thank you. Sunrise Tweed. My son's username is MR NUKING [redacted].
