I recently received a letter from Social Security stating that my monthly benefits are being withheld due to an overpayment made to a person named Byron Rosenbaum. This situation has greatly impacted my ability to cover my living expenses, including my house payment and medical bills. I have no knowledge of how Byron Rosenbaum's information got linked to my file and I never received any overpayment. This is my only source of income, and having it withheld because of a mistake I had no control over is causing significant stress and financial strain.

In October [redacted], following instructions from employees at my local Social Security Administration office in Jacksonville, FL, I submitted an appeal for reconsideration of spousal death benefits. An SSA staff member indicated I might be eligible for partial benefits after a brief review of my file and provided a fax number ([redacted]) for a faster submission. I faxed all necessary documents on October 23, [redacted], and received confirmation that everything was successfully received. However, when I inquired about the appeal status last week, there was no record of receiving my documents. Despite attempting to contact the local SSA office for four days, I have been placed on hold for over 30 minutes each time, only to have the call disconnected. It seems the office might be avoiding public calls. I am concerned about the approaching deadline for the appeal due to this issue. I kindly request assistance in investigating and resolving this matter promptly.

I contacted SSI to request letters detailing my payment history. The first lady was working on it, but we got disconnected, and she didn't call back. I had to start the process again and finally reached someone after 45 minutes. Unfortunately, he mentioned they couldn't help me. Although frustrated, I remained polite and asked to speak with someone else, but he hung up. After trying several more times, I faced no response. On one occasion, someone joined the line but didn't speak before hanging up on me.

I recently received a voicemail from someone claiming to be from Social Security, stating there was fraudulent activity linked to my Social Security Number. The callback number provided was [redacted]. The voicemail mentioned a "conventional attempt of non-appearance." I do not engage with these types of calls, and this is not the first time I have received a similar message, about six months ago. I believe this is a scam. If it's not, please reach out to me by email. Thank you, Jane Lenz

In [redacted], I visited a nearby casino and had some good luck, winning a jackpot. Shortly after, I had another lucky streak at a different casino. My total income for [redacted], according to my tax preparer, was approximately $[redacted],[redacted]. Unfortunately, I ended up gambling most of it away at the casino. I rely on Social Security disability benefits as a [redacted]% disabled Veteran, and my income is tax-exempt. After contacting Social Security recently and explaining my situation, they informed me that instead of the expected $[redacted] monthly, I would only receive $55. This amount is not enough for me to live on. I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you. - Robert R.

I have been receiving Social Security Disability benefits since [redacted], and after my husband passed away in [redacted], I started receiving a portion of his benefits to supplement my own. He also received compensation from the Veterans Administration for scars he got during his service, not as a pension. I would like to know if Social Security informed the Veterans Administration about his benefits in [redacted] and every year when I receive cost-of-living adjustments. This is crucial to me as they are now claiming I owe them money. Thank you for looking into this matter. Marianne Brown, formerly Marianne Miko. My Social Security number is [redacted], and his is [redacted].

When I first started receiving SSI, I did not receive information about being eligible for Medicare, which resulted in me not applying for it. I have been on SSI due to disability since around [redacted]. Unfortunately, I have faced issues with a neighbor stalking me, assaults, thefts, and interference with my communications. In [redacted], I was surprised to learn from my Medicaid provider, during a prescription payment, that records showed a request to cancel my insurance, which I would never do. This situation has left me homeless, without insurance, food stamps, and dealing with fibromyalgia. I urgently need insurance.

My husband, Joseph H., received a $[redacted] government check while in rehab after signing it, ready to be deposited. However, when I tried to deposit it, I was informed he was marked as deceased by Social Security. Despite him being alive when the check was issued, it was not accepted for deposit. I am unsure what to do next since the check was stamped for deposit only. His Social Security funds have been deposited since January [redacted], directed to him rather than his daughter, benefiting us as a married couple living in Texarkana, Texas. As we face this unexpected situation, I'm seeking guidance on how to proceed, especially given my limited knowledge of Social Security matters. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

My wife's health plan was transitioned from Medicare Parts A and B supported by a State BC/BS plan, which is also tied to my federal BC/BS coverage. Her prescriptions were processed through my federal plan. On January 1, [redacted], her State plan switched to a United Advantage plan that somehow included Medicare Plans A, B, and D without her consent. After discovering this error impacted her Social Security benefits, we terminated the United plan on January 31, [redacted], reverting to Medicare Parts A and B supported by my federal BC/BS.
Despite disenrollment from United, she is still being billed for Medicare Part D. We've spoken with Medicare and the SSA, but the SSA specifically requested a copy of the disenrollment letter from United. We have filled out Form SSA-[redacted]-Us, attached a letter outlining the issue, and provided a copy of the United disenrollment letter. We attempted to deliver these documents to the local SSA office in Abingdon, MD, only to find it closed. Time is running out with the 60-day deadline approaching. Where should I send these documents to ensure her Social Security payments are corrected promptly?
Thank you.

I need to request a name change on my social security card due to my divorce. However, I am hesitant to send my original documents by mail as I have experienced losses in the past. I recently had to pay $14 for another copy of my decree and cannot afford to do so again. I am concerned about the security of my original documents. I tried to schedule an appointment at the local office, but they said it is not considered an emergency. I also need to renew my driver's license, which requires my social security card. I am being told I lack the correct proof of identity to proceed. I urgently need assistance to obtain my social security card and renew my driver's license to continue working.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am reporting a fraud concerning an individual named Khatoun Porpossian, born on 02/24/[redacted], making her 92 years old. She is currently being held at the property located at [redacted] N. Via Val Verde in Montebello, CA. Yesterday, I observed that she was being kept in the house against her will, presumably for her family to access her benefits. It appeared that she is unwell, and I am concerned she may have COVID-19. Despite my efforts to intervene, the family members refused to allow me entry. Upon contacting the Montebello PD, I was informed that they could not take action as it was outside their jurisdiction. This response was disappointing, especially coming from Lieutenant Marty. When I questioned the daughter about seeking medical help for her mother, she mentioned financial constraints.
I urge you to investigate this situation involving potential elder abuse and financial exploitation.
Thank you.

I assist families receiving SSI benefits. One family applied for SSI in January [redacted], was approved, and started receiving monthly payments. It is believed that they should also receive back pay from when they initially applied. To understand SSI procedures better and provide accurate information to families, there is a need for clarity on how the back pay system operates. The family was informed that to receive their back pay, they must provide a reason for why they need it, such as purchasing a vehicle for transporting their disabled child to appointments as their current vehicle is not functional. They were also informed that the vehicle needs inspection to establish its lack of safety. Can anyone confirm if this requirement is accurate? I communicate with the parent weekly through virtual visits and would appreciate any insights to share with them. Thank you, R. New

Our phones are compromised, and we are being harassed. We believe John R. is involved, and his brother is an informant, which makes it hard for us. As senior citizens, we are struggling with chronic health issues and anxiety due to this situation. John has a history of criminal behavior, and we are finding it difficult to get help. We reached out to the Post Office for assistance but were unable to communicate our concerns clearly due to John's interference. Apple advised us to contact the Attorney General or lawyers, but we cannot afford the legal fees they are requesting. We feel isolated and scared, as nobody wants to assist us knowing John and his brother's background. We are desperately seeking help, and even the Cyber Crime Help Line is being blocked. Please, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am inquiring on behalf of Mr. & Mrs. J C Smith. Mr. Smith, who receives Benefits due to his Polio condition, experienced a decrease in his benefits which Mrs. Smith believes is due to fraudulent reporting by his mother. Mrs. Smith can be reached at [redacted] and prefers to be contacted on Thursday or Friday mornings due to her work schedule. The couple is interested in exploring if Mr. Smith is eligible to have his benefits reinstated considering his worsening condition and increased medical needs.

I recently fell victim to a scam where I mistakenly paid an "online security" bill from my bank account. The scammers then overpaid me and asked for the excess back, subsequently offering to upgrade my system to Windows 11 as an apology. They held my system for 24 hours until the check processed. After some investigation, I discovered the money they transferred was actually mine. I have documentation of the bank and routing numbers they used and multiple phone numbers. I have alerted my bank, and they are investigating the matter. I am concerned about the personal information that might have been compromised, including my SSN, car registration, and credit card details that were in my DMV online registration.

I believe the San Francisco government police are wrongly accusing me of defrauding the Social Security Administration due to a misunderstanding. Despite my disabilities causing some memory issues, I am legally married to my wife, Tracy Smith, who is a Military Captain with a significant income. Tracy has worked for the government for many years as a legal Secretary and has paid into Social Security. I believe I am entitled to spousal benefits that I have not received. The Social Security Administration owes me a substantial amount of money, and I seek assistance in obtaining the necessary forms for back payments, including a military stimulus check. My name is Frederick Smith, and I am hopeful to resolve this matter promptly.

I am requesting a copy of my Award Letter that states my disability benefits amount before and after taxes. The letter should specify it is a handicap award. My disability stems from a 50% disability due to service injuries from the Veterans Administration, along with being [redacted]% disabled because I cannot stand or walk without falling. I have used a walker and a battery-powered scooter since my full disability in February [redacted] resulting from a surgical accident. This has left me permanently changed from how I was in [redacted]. I also need a replacement SSA card as mine is fading and difficult to read, though there is no rush for it.
