My checking account was hacked, so my bank opened a new account. I need to update my information with social security for direct deposits. When I tried, it said the update won't go through until March, but I need to ensure my January and February deposits are processed correctly. Thanks, Barbara G. Bock.

Hello. I have a few questions I hope you could address:
1. I reside in the Philippines where the mail service is unreliable. After moving to a new location, the Post Office failed to deliver my letter from SSA containing the SSA-[redacted]-OCR-SM Form. The Postmaster returned the letter to SSA. Could I fax my SSA-[redacted]-OCR-SM form to you? To whom should I address it, and what is the fax number for International individuals?
2. Is there a toll-free number for International customers that I can contact to speak with someone?
3. My details are as follows:
Dale J. Anderson
28 Gaddang St. Brgy Roxas
Solano, Nueva Vizcaya
Philippines [redacted]
SSA# [redacted]
Tel# [redacted] (a Magicjack local Texas number)
Thank you in advance for your understanding and help. God bless.

On December 3rd, I visited the Social Security office to appeal for the adjustment of the irmma portion B&D of my Medicare premium cost due to a life-changing event, my retirement. I was initially informed that my payments would be revised, and the charges would be removed. However, within two weeks, I received four contradictory letters from them - first stating the removal of irmma charges, then their re-addition. My appeal was supported by my retirement on January 1, [redacted], and the expected decrease in my income below the irrma charges threshold. Despite making my first three payments for [redacted], inclusive of the irmma charges, I believe I should not be liable for the additional expenses. My actual income for [redacted] is indeed below the threshold, and I am puzzled by the reversal of their initial decision. When I contacted Medicare last week, they had no record of any communication from Social Security regarding this issue.

I need assistance with my benefits. Last month, $78 was deducted by SSA due to an alleged overpayment from self-employment income in [redacted]/[redacted]. I was wrongly informed by an SSA representative that I filed taxes for [redacted] with self-employment income, which is not true as my health condition prevents me from working. Despite following instructions by contacting the IRS, submitting the necessary forms, and visiting the SSA office in February [redacted], I have yet to receive a response. As a single parent caring for my daughter and battling terminal illness, the deductions are causing significant financial strain, especially during the current global crisis. I urge for a resolution as my benefits are vital for our basic needs. I plead for assistance to rectify this situation as I have exhausted all efforts to prevent further garnishments. The stress is weakening my health, and I simply wish to provide for my daughter and witness her high school graduation. Kindly address the deductions for February and March promptly. Thank you.

In February, I updated my direct deposit details, with the change meant to start with the April 3rd payment. Although I forgot to update this information with Social Security, I managed to do so today, on April 6, [redacted]. The updated information will take effect in May or June. Everything seems fine now. However, I am concerned about my April payment. When and how will I receive it? It has not been deposited onto my current Direct Express card.

I am feeling incredibly frustrated at this point. I have been calling for a week trying to resolve my deposit issue regarding my Social Security payments. Despite following all the instructions given to me over the phone, the problem still persists, and nobody seems to know where my deposit went. As my financial situation deteriorates each day without my check, I have completed every task asked of me online and done everything I can. I understand the challenges your organization might be facing due to the current circumstances with the pandemic and stimulus activities, but I urgently need this matter resolved. My financial struggles have left me unable to afford food and maintain my bill payments. I have made a total of 31 phone calls, but unfortunately, the issue remains unresolved. Please assist me promptly. Thank you.

I am having trouble setting up my Social Security account online. Someone assisted me in creating the account but we couldn't finish the process. I have a one-time access code to finalize the online application. I am thankful for the help, and I prefer not having to visit an office again. I have vivid memories of long waits to receive different services there.

I am writing to address a concerning legal matter involving the lawsuit Dayton General Hospital v. Merle Mace Matheny. The case, filed in Columbia County Superior Court on 02/22/[redacted] under Case No. [redacted]2-7, includes false accusations against me, Doris J. Matheny. I was wrongly accused of mishandling Merle's SSA funds, despite legally being his financial authority through DPOA. These unfounded claims resulted in the sale of Merle's assets, Medicaid enrollment, and placement in a nursing home. I reported the situation to the County Sheriff and Prosecutor, who declined to take action. I am considering pursuing this case in Federal Court due to the fraudulent nature of the claims made against me and the harm caused to Merle and myself. I aim to hold those involved accountable for their actions, but as a private individual, I cannot seek prosecution. It is crucial that the responsible parties are brought to justice for their criminal behavior. Doris J. Matheny Starbuck, Washington [redacted]

Despite seeking medical help and contacting my landlord, the issue remains unresolved. I've tried different treatments without success. Additionally, I am experiencing financial difficulties and have not received my disability deposit this month. I would appreciate any assistance in addressing these urgent matters. Thank you for your help.

I am currently receiving SSDI and have a bank account. I have not received my stimulus direct deposit yet. Many others have received their paper checks, but I haven't. The IRS website has not provided any useful information, leaving me puzzled. I've been checking for updates for four weeks now, and it's frustrating to keep seeing the same message. I am sure I qualify for the stimulus, but I have no idea when to expect it. It would be helpful if the IRS could provide clearer updates for individuals receiving SSDI, SSI, and veterans benefits. Thank you. Paul D. Benbenek.

Good morning,
I have a query about my Social Security Number regarding my F-1 student visa.
As an international student with authorization to work on-campus through my university, I obtained my SSN. I recently graduated in May [redacted] and now that I am back in my home country with no plans to return to the USA as a student, I am unsure about the permissible use of my SSN.
Could I utilize my SSN for stock market investment through platforms like E*Trade or Robinhood, which issue annual W-2s for tax purposes? I need to file taxes as I had on-campus employment earlier this year.
Can I employ my SSN as long as I fulfill my tax obligations? Or does the expiration of my F-1 student status render my SSN unusable?
The lack of available information has left me uncertain. Thank you for your assistance.

I have not been able to get through to the customer service phone number despite multiple attempts. I am concerned about the significant increase in my co-pay for insulin this year compared to last year when I had Essence insurance. I recently switched to Humana hoping for better coverage, but the co-pay is still high, averaging $[redacted]. With a low income and minimal cost of living raises, such steep increases are unmanageable. Initially, Humana quoted me a $47 co-pay for Novolog, but now they are asking for $[redacted] on a payment plan. I was approved for Extrahelp by Social Security, so I am puzzled by these changes. This situation is concerning as individuals on Social Security should not face such high co-pays for essential medication. I need clarification on what my co-payments should realistically be.

In June [redacted], I transitioned from a spousal Social Security account to my individual account. However, the payments I received were calculated as if the switch occurred in January, resulting in missed growth in my new payments for 6 months. Despite assurances of a catch-up check and corrected January [redacted] payment at the local office, I am still receiving the lower amount without any catch-up payment. I reached out to the Social Security Administration through visits, letters, and calls, but have only been advised to wait. Unsure of how to proceed next. Thank you.

Adelina H. lived with me for around 17 years, first meeting in San Jose, CA during a church mission. After her husband passed away, she moved to Cedar City, UT where she worked as a Housekeeping staff at the local hospital. A work accident in May [redacted] left her with a broken hip and wrist, leading to surgery. Attempting to return to work in November [redacted], she had to retire early due to health reasons and went back to her family in the Philippines. Before leaving the U.S., she applied for and received her late husband's Social Security benefits, deposited into her State Bank of Southern Utah account. However, the benefits abruptly stopped in January [redacted]. Lacking her Social Security Number, I've been unable to contact the Social Security Administration. Although the bank holds her SSN, communication has been challenging due to language barriers. I am seeking guidance on how to proceed to assist Adelina in reinstating her crucial benefits for her livelihood.

I have encountered challenges with the Social Security office in San Mateo, California. The communication has been difficult, with calls made only on Fridays and no direct extension provided for follow-up conversations. The representatives I have spoken with were incredibly rude and disrespectful. I would appreciate it if my case could be transferred to a different Social Security office to resolve these issues.

I am 67 years old and currently have Part A Medicare. My Part B is deferred because I have health coverage through my employer and union. Due to being laid off for at least 30 days starting on November 30th and losing my health coverage, I am uncertain about the status of my Medicare. Will my Part B continue to be deferred penalty-free even after a 30-day gap in health insurance? What happens if the layoff lasts longer than one month? Do I need to enroll in Part B Medicare immediately after losing my health coverage, or do I have an 8-month window to do so?

I am currently in the process of enrolling in a Medicare Advantage plan. The insurance agent has informed me that I will need to pay a monthly premium as a penalty for not enrolling earlier. I was also told that if I receive additional benefits through Social Security, the penalty could be waived. I am seeking advice on how to receive this assistance promptly to avoid the penalty premiums associated with my plan. It seems that becoming eligible for extra help from the Social Security Administration is the solution to my current situation.

Is it possible for a sibling to claim Social Security benefits upon the passing of another sibling in a large family? If there's a surplus in a GoFundMe account set up at a local bank for funeral expenses, can the remaining funds be used for personal gain by the surviving sibling? If a sibling is familiar with the owners of a local funeral home, can they request multiple death certificates, possibly for personal gain purposes?
If funeral expenses are covered through a GoFundMe account at a financial institution, can the account be left open for personal benefit by the savvy surviving sibling? Is it allowable for the clever sibling to deduct the funeral costs from the GoFundMe funds on their Income Tax Return? Additionally, the astute sibling has ownership of numerous rental properties.

I started receiving early Social Security benefits in April at 62 while still working. Due to my earnings last year, the benefits were supposed to start in September. However, I lost my job in July, so I contacted the Social Security Administration to update my income information. I provided an estimate of my earnings prior to being laid off as 19K, but later found out from my payroll site that I actually made 21K, possibly due to overtime and vacation payments.
After sending in forms detailing my projected income for [redacted], I received a lump sum back pay based on the initial 19K report. Despite assurances from an agent that there wouldn't be an overpayment issue, I was later notified of a 2-month overpayment of [redacted].00. The SSA website now shows an overpayment of [redacted].00, with deductions of [redacted].00 per month scheduled.
I have received conflicting information regarding the repayment process, with one agent advising me to contact the local office and another suggesting deductions from my monthly checks. I am uncertain about the correct course of action and the discrepancy in the amount I owe. Any clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
